SBS22 January Blog Hop Challenge by Peggy

My SBS22 Sister Peggy's January challenge (here) was to create anything but a card - the only catch is that it must be for Valentine’s Day! So I decorated a Tully's coffee tin from a Christmas pack I bought at our local supermarket. I'll probably fill it with Hershey's Nuggets for the recipient - a little chocolate is always a great treat!!! Don't forget my SBS22 challenge to create a card using no pink or red & one Valentine! ;-)
Paper: Basic Grey's Bittersweet
Ink: PTI's Palette Raspberry Fizz
Ribbon: Making Memories
Other Embellishments: Spellbinder's Wizard Scalloped Heart; Fruit Punch Stickles; Lace & Felt Heart from stash

Happy Fall Card II

I finally did a paper piecing, though it's a bit late now for our SBS22 challenge which was for last month!!! My card is fairly simple, since the various Basic Grey Mellow papers give it enough detail, I think! It could work for a male also.
Papers: PaperTrey Ink's Kraft cardstock & pumpkin cardstock from stash; Basic Grey's Mellow 6" x 6" cardstock pad
Stamps: Stampendous Mega Happy & Seasonal Swirls acrylic sets
Ink: PTI's Dark Chocolate Hybrid Ink
Tools: Scor-It Board

Card Toppers RAK

Pictured are the card toppers along with a card Tina sent me for our SBS22 RAK exchange this month -- aren't they just awesome?!!! I love them, Tina, and will be gearing up here soon for my annual Christmas card-making extravaganza! I'm not one who terribly enjoys making more than 2 or 3 of one particular card as a rule, so getting 45+ Christmas cards done is always a big undertaking! Unfortunately, it's very hard for me to make many different designs and then make up my mind who to send them to, so I eventually decide on 1 design & make them all the same. I usually lean more towards "elegant", which means more work embossing, etc., so at least this year I already have 2 cards practically done, thanks to Tina! **U**

Get Well Card for Norma

My SBS22 Sister, Norma, received and posted this card on her blog recently, but I wanted to go ahead and post it because this half-window card I found here on Vicki Hook's site was so much fun to make! Vicki has some awesome tutorials there! It was a bit challenging for me, because of the size of my scalloped paper (I wanted them on all edges!), but I really like how it turned out. Unbelievably, the only DP I could find in my stash that really matched the scalloped Bazzill was this tulip DP. Though it's NOT very fall-like, it's bright & cheery, which I think we need when we're not feeling well -- flowers always seem to brighten difficult days!!! The matching chipboard tulip sealed the deal!
Paper: Bazzill Scall0ped cardstock; DCWV DPs
Stamp: Hero Arts
Ink: Versacolor's Opera Pink
Embellishments: DCWV's spring chipboard elements
Tools: Wizard & Round Nesties

SBS 22 September Blog Hop Challenge Card

Here's my entry for the first-ever SBS22 Blog Hop Challenge. It was fun to create, but did prove to be a bit of a challenge for me because I realized AFTER I had my squares all stamped, embossed & run through the Wizard that it would not fit on a 6" square card and still allow any of my colorful background paper to show! Necessity being the Mother of Invention (not to mention lack of time or the inclination to start over), I took creative license and made it 6 1/4" square! Yep, I cheated on my first-ever challenge!!! ;-} Since I had a couple of cardstocks larger than 12" square to cut a larger base AND a 6 1/2" black envelope to mail it in, I decided to just go with it! Rules were meant to be "bent" anyway - right?!!! LOL!!!
Paper: Strathmore Bristol Vellum (card base); SEI's Eerie Alley Nightmare Square DP; SU's cardstock (squares)
Stamps: Making Memories Spellbound Clear Acrylic
Ink: ColorBox's Raven Black; Tsukineko's Moonlight White Brilliance
Tools: Wizard Diecutting Machine & Square Nesties
Embelllishments: Clear & White Embossing Powders

Award Week

Wow, I'm just imagining what it must be like for actors/actresses to be nominated for an Emmy or Oscar, as I received TWO awards this week through my SBS22 sisterhood. This one is from sweet Stephenie -- thank you so much, Stephenie!!! Pop by her blog, leave her a comment, and brighten her day!!! ;-)

The blogs that bring me joy (besides Stephenie's) are: Gwen, Tina, and Aileen (Spike). Give them a look-see & shout out while you're there!!!

Okay, I'm exhausted from preparing my acceptance speeches - ummm, blog entries - for acceptance of both awards, so I'm logging off to enjoy the rest of the evening at my craft table! I'd very much like to thank the academy . . . LOL!!!

I Love Your Blog Award

My SBS22 sister, Julanne, recently gave me this award. Thanks, Julanne! Stop by her blog & leave her a comment soon!
I'm very lucky to belong to this talented group of ladies and I'm very much looking forward to all the wonderful ideas, challenges and papercrafting opportunities that await us!!!
I'm purposely nominating bloggers outside our SBS22 group, as I very much enjoy perusing their blogs and I want my sisters to be able to expand their horizons in this big world of multi-talented folks! I therefore
nominate for this award: Claire, Glee, Jak, Latisha, Monique, Regan and Jennifer.

Summer Sunshine & Flowers

Here's my entry for the Arty Girls "Summer" challenge. I finally put to use this darling "dream" expoxy sticker and bias tape, both items from a RAK I received back in March from my BBGF (best blogging girlfriend) Gwen and a card shape she first shared with our Designing Divas group awhile back! We both have things we've had for quite awhile & not used, but with our new SBS22 group, maybe that will soon change!!!
Paper: The Paper Company's Mandarin cardstock; DCWV DPs
Embellishments: Making Memories Grommets; Joanns Twill Tape & Expoxy Sticker; Michaels Silk Flower

Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers - 22 (SBS22)

Greetings to all my new "sisters"! I can't wait to visit all your blogs and see all your wonderful work! I'm a resident of Maricopa, Arizona (Phoenix suburb), currently not working outside our home. I particularly enjoy cardmaking and I'm slowly moving towards scrapbooking, but feel I need to learn a lot more about photography to succeed. I've done crafts my entire life and would truly be lost without something to work on. I'm enjoying the challenges of blogging & looking forward to this new adventure with all of you! My husband is retired and we have two grown children, a son & daughter. He also has two grown children, a daughter & son, and a grown grandson and granddaughter. Yes, he's a bit older than I am, so I always tease him that I'm too young to be a Grandma!!! ;-) I have no sisters in real life, but I think sometimes that makes my friends even more precious!!!
