JustRite Friday Challenge 037 (2nd Entry): Sketch

I'd been thinking of doing this Spellbinder's Halloween Graveyard Scene using several embossing powders, so decided I'd try it, not knowing how/if I could make it work?!
So for my 2nd JustRite entry this week, I die cut my graveyard scene in Spellbinders silver craft foil and colored the crow with Copic C9. Next I used my Embossing Pen on just the bottom "earth" area and sprinkled and heated my embossing powder. Then I just did the smaller sections one at a time with the desired EPs until done, added a bit more Copic greys/browns to finish off the edges and attached it to my card front.
I wanted to feature Mr. Bones against my harvest moon, kind of the "dead man in the moon", so stamped my JustRite 15-pt. TNR "Come if you dare" sentiment on gold Vellum, embossed in black EP and mounted that on a Spellbinders' Classic Circle die cut from orange Bazzill.
A spattering of Amuse twinkle stars in the night sky and my eerie scene is complete, so "Come if you DARE"!!!
My husband said for a totally different look, I could use a witch, so I guess I have his permission to buy Spellbinders "Witches Brew" dies next-- LOL!

JustRite Friday Challenge 037: Sketch & My Sheri Crafts Challenge 24: Masculine

JustRite's challenge this week was to follow their sketch. Since I needed a card for a male relative and My Sheri Crafts' theme is 'masculine', this is my entry for both challenges. I began by filling the border of my 2 3/8" round JustRite stamper with "Happy 25th Bradley" in TNR 25-pt. font. Next I spelled out birthday in TNR 15-pt. font on my 2" round stamper's inside rim and added the 'Celebrate star' image from Just A Note. Love how I can combine font sizes & images on different stampers to customize/personalize my cards! Both images were die cut/embossed with SB circle dies and assembled with Inverted Circle die cuts in silver, just peeking out behind and popped up on fibrous star BG paper. My bottom border was made with 3 SB die cuts from an older die called "Symbology" and silver eyelets.
Stamps: JustRite's 15 & 25-pt. Times New Roman Fonts & Just a Note Borders & Centers
Ink: Versacolor Atlantic
Paper: Bazzill (2 shades of blue from stash) & handmade fibrous blue paper w/silver stars & silver metallic CS (stash)
Embellishments: Amuse Twinkle stickers; WeRMemoryKeepers' silver eyelets
Tools: Spellbinders' Wizard, Classic Circles, Inverted Circles & Symbology S3-004 die; Crop-a-dile

Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

For Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop this month we were to show off any skills we might have learned from a fellow stamper, and perhaps even give them a little shout out to thank them for the inspiration they have provided. I honestly have been stamping/trying out new crafting techniques for sooo long that I don't specifically recall who taught me what?! My favorite things recently are using dies, Copic markers and shrink plastic.
Today I used Mat Stack 1 on the front of my card for a cut-out to reveal Everyday Button Bits flowers stamped inside. I framed the cut-out with Spellbinders' Labels Seventeen cut from Scarlet Jewel Paper. I cut my Mat Stack 1 from almond shrink plastic, punched a large hole, stamped Thank You from Giga Guide Lines in Pure Poppy, and used my heat gun to shrink it. Once cool, I added jewels colored with Copics to match and attached my embellishment to the large knot on my ribbon strip. My flower-shaped buttons were formerly cream and green, but I used my ABS to airbrush them, which is a much smoother result than brushing the color on. My final step was stamping "Wonderful friend" from the Anniversary set, Round & Round.
Papertrey products: Mat Stack 1 die; Vintage Cream & Scarlet Jewel CS; Everyday Button Bits, Giga Guide Lines, Round & Round stamp sets; Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado inks
All other products: buttons, gems & ribbon from stash; Spellbinders' Labels Seventeen

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #23: Autumn

For My Sheri Crafts "Autumn" Challenge this week, I covered a tin box I've had in my stash for awhile using one of my favorite fall papers: Basic Grey's Mellow 6 x 6 pad. I loved it so much after I first used it that I ran out & bought a second pad!
I chose a tree paper to cover the top and then used 4 solids and the stripe in this line for my pennants and brownish-green solid for trim and to cover the box edges. I cut/embossed my pennants from the largest Spellbinders' star die from a small scrap for each "flag". Baker's twine is used to "hang" my pennant, across the border strip and along the lid's edge. To complete my fall theme, I used alphabet charms for my "Happy Fall" sentiment. Now all I need is to visit my local grocery for some goodies to tuck inside and a matching tag or small card & I have a fun little gift for a friend/neighbor -- thanks My Sheri Crafts for the inspiration! ;-)
Paper: Basic Grey's Mellow 6 x 6 Paper Pad
Ink: PTI's Chamomile (on flags all edges)
Embellishments: Making Memories' Small Antique Copper Alpha Charms; The Twinery's Baker's Twine

JustRite Friday Challenge 036: Color Challenge

JustRite's Color Challenge for this week included the "twist" to also create a handmade embellishment. Mine did just that in the making -- twisted, curled, turned & flattened out once again, as I used shrink plastic.
After Copic coloring my main floral image from JRs Plant a Little Love, I took black Stazon ink to stamp "Just Because" from Just a Note Borders & Centers on almond Shrinky Dink. I die cut it with Spellbinders' Lacey Squares, colored the flowers with Copics R29 & YG67, punched a 3/16" hole and shrunk it with my heat gun -- what a fun process!
I decided it was best to let the floral image take center stage, so simply tied red tulle through my embellishment and upper corner of my Lacey Square, added black & red layers and pop dotted it onto a 4 1/4" square note card, finishing with my 1/2" corner rounder.
Appreciate your stopping in for a peek today!!!
Stamps: JustRite's Plant a Little Love & Just a Note Borders & Centers
Inks: Memento's Tuxedo Black & Stazon Black
Papers: PTI's Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy & Black CS
Embellishments: Copics & Spica Glitter; Shrinky Dinks Plastic; tulle
Tools: Spellbinders' Wizard & Lacey Squares Dies; WeRMemory Keepers' Crop-a-Dile & Corner Rounder

Happliy Ever Challenged #10: A Golden Opportunity (Christmas Card)

Here is a simple gold card for Ted's challenge at Happily Ever Crafter (don't you just LOVE that blog name?): use shiny gold on your project!
I began with a purchased gold deckle-edged card, die cut Spellbinders' stars from Spellbinders' gold craft foil and then pop dotted the center star. My sentiment and star's "glow" are both stamps from Papertrey Ink's Silent Night set and the three long rays were created simply using a ruler and a Zig Embossing pen. All embossing was done with DeNami Design's Gold Embossing Powder. A shiny gold braided cord finishes off my card -- a very simple but, I think, striking Christmas card!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #22: Thinking of You

Needing a card for my elderly aunt, I loved this challenge at My Sheri Crafts! To me "Thinking of You" is always a perfect sentiment, no matter what you decide to stamp or write inside your card. I had previously colored this JustRite watering can bouquet with Copics, so it was my starting point. After cutting/embossing two Spellbinders' Beaded Ovals, I left them in the dies and sponged softly with Sweet Blush ink. Those 2 layers were alternated with another darker oval below my main image, popping up the top two layers for interest. My sentiment threaded through a Spellbinders' Ribbon Tag with a side bow and rounded corners are the finishing touch. Hope it brings my Aunt a smile when it reaches her!
Paper: Papertrey Inks' White & Berry Sorbet CS & lighter berry CS (scrap)
Stamps: JustRite's Autumn Blessings & PTI's Autumn Blessings (sentiment)
Ink: PTI's True Black & Sweet Blush
Embellishments: Ribbon from Stash; Copic Markers
Tools: Spellbinders' Ovals & Beaded Ovals & Ribbon Tag Trio Dies

JustRite Friday Challenge 035: Christmas in September/Holiday Tag

JustRite's weekly challenge is sponsored by Spellbinders, so their new Fanciful Holiday was perfect for my tag. Using Copic's Cool Grays in my air compressor, I created a multihued sky. (Wouldn't this BG be perfect for a Halloween tag using SB's new Halloween dies?!) Did you know JustRite now sells Copic Markers in singles & sets? Click here to go directly to their catalog.
Rudolph is flying across the night sky with a reminder for us to "Believe"! JustRite's 15 pt. Times New Roman font was the perfect size to create his banner. Pretty sure those folks on the snowy ground below believe,
as they've decorated an outdoor Christmas tree -- LOL!
My reindeer & tree were cut from Spellbinders' Premium Craft Foil in gold & green. When coloring the pot brown, I saw that the alcohol marker removed the green. Since I'd accidentally removed some from the tree, I grabbed my rubbing alcohol & paper towel & removed it all. I then airbrushed the whole tree with Copic G07. So a happy little accident, as I now know I can have whatever color/shade of foil I desire! I just LOVE Copics' versatility!!!
My snow is simply torn white glitter paper and my moon a SB circle die cut from it & airbrushed with Copic Y11. The little red star tree topper was from my stash, so I colored clear gems with Copic R27. Adding Amuse tiny twinkle stars in the sky and red, green & gold fibers finished off this tag. The small photo better shows off the sparkly gems.

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #21: Labor Day

My Sheri Crafts' weekly challenge for Labor Day made me think of its significance here in the desert SW -- saying bye-bye to triple-digit temps, welcoming back our fabulous fall weather and enjoying the great outdoors again. For my tribute I stamped Papertrey Ink's vase of sunflowers and the Autumn Abundance sentiment. Needing more practice using my air compressor, I left my stamped image in the Nestie circle and added Copic Y21 Buttercup Yellow to the BG. I'm improving, but quite sure Debbie Olson has nothing to fear from me just yet -- LOL! I love trying new concepts/tools and paper crafting certainly provides abundant learning opportunities! I decided to cut a window in my card front & mount my focal image inside. Below is the inside photo.

Paper: PTI's Vintage Cream,Plum Pudding, Lavender Moon CS & Friends 'Til the End DP
Stamps: PTI's Autumn Abundance
Ink: Memento's Rich Cocoa
Embellishments: Bazzill Basics Ribbon
Tools: Spellbinders' Wizard, Circle /Inverted Scalloped Circle and Ribbon Tag dies; Various Copic Markers; Central Pneumatic Air Compressor

JustRite Friday Challenge 034: Glitter Magic

I love the glitz & glam of glitter, but NOT the mess. JustRite's challenge this week had us hauling out our vacuums! I still had a lot of fun working on this glittery project, a sweet photo of our daughter @ 20 months sitting on our bathroom counter in front of the mirror after I dried her hair. Starting with a 5 x 7 canvas panel from Michaels, I inked directly with Antique Linen & Tattered Rose Distress Inks, dabbing with a paper towel to remove excess ink. Martha Stewart's Brownstone glitter on Spellbinders' Classic Frame and Flourish Accent die cuts, a sheer brown bow and the very fitting "Cherish the Memories" sentiment from JustRite Stampers' Cherish the Memories Nested Sentiments and Verse easily made this memory one to enjoy forever!
Working with photos is a new concept for me, so I've started with small projects. I'm undecided whether I'll hang this alone or create two more panels to accompany it, but it was really fun and inexpensive to do !

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #20: Babies

I needed a baby boy card for a new little guy who will soon be welcomed into the world, so My Sheri Crafts weekly challenge was perfect! I stamped this sweet little rocking horse onto Papertrey Ink's Vintage Cream CS, colored him with Copic Markers and cut him out. A tiny acrylic heart from Heidi Grace was added over the heart on his neck ribbon and a tiny safety pin and metal charm to my ribbon knot. Papers are from Making Memories and PTI; ribbon is American Crafts.
Thanks for the visit this Labor Day Weekend and hope yours is fabulous!
