CPS 104 Card Sketch/PTI's With Sympathy Card

Finally got a chance today to play with my new goodies from PTI and to do a CPS sketch! I knew I was going to LOVE this set, even though it's designed for making sympathy cards. As the ingenious designers @ PTI have already demonstrated, it works so well for so many other creations too!!!
I used just part of the large vine stamp for my card here, along with a small flower and sentiment from this fabulous set. Making it even more awesome, there are two small add-on sets, one for the Loss of a Child and one for the Loss of a Pet for only $5 each!!! We all hope we'll never need the one for a child, but we know our furry friends don't share our usual longevity, so it's a great set to have on hand.

Male Gift Tin Treat Holder

My friend from MN drinks General Foods International Coffees and brought me 30 empty cans to decorate, which I'm going to share with my Designing Diva's stamping group. I decided I'd better try one to see how difficult a job covering one would be. It wasn't actually too hard, but I did discover that the circumference of the tin is 12 1/4"so you will need to either splice a small piece to cover the gap or run the handle from bottom edge to bottom edge to cover the void. Either way, it's not much of a problem. I had thought these had metal lids, but they are plastic, so if you choose to use the lid as I did on this one, you'll need to cover it, as it has wording embossed on the lid. It was a bit tricky getting the tin into the Crop-a-dile II in order to punch holes for attaching my handle, but it does work. I simply added large brads to attach my handle, eyelets across the handle and Sizzix Initial for accents on this masculine tin, wanting to keep it simple! My mind is reeling as to how you could embellish these to the hilt for a girly-girl gift holder!!! ;~) Oh, I just realized this matches perfectly with the Masculine Valentine Card I made here.

PTI's Challenge: Dawn's Favorites Color Challenge

Sadly today is the last of Nichole Heady's fabulous challenges for Papertrey Ink's 2nd Anniversary celebration. It's been such a fun week & she's given away so many awesome prizes that I'll surely feel lost as to what to do next week. Perhaps I'll have to get busy with some of the new sketches I've recently received!!!
I chose to "case" Dawn's Black & Cream Anniversary card posted here, because I needed an anniversary card & I've always loved elegant Damask designs. Mine was made using what I could from my stash & includes PTI's Vintage Cream & Kraft cardstocks, Happy Anniversary stamp from Mixed Messages and Palette Noir ink.

Red Velvet Paper Valentine Card

I needed another Valentine's Day card and liked my previous red velvet paper one, so I decided to create a similar one. This time I used my scalloped Nesties heart to cut a felt paper heart, added a pink heart stick pin and a "hugs & kisses" stamp. A very quick/easy/pretty V-Day card!

PTI's Friends 'Til the End & Quick Kits Challenge

Another fabulous, fun-filled day over at Papertrey Ink with the beginning of Nichole's reveals for all the awesome new stamps & other luscious products she'll have for sale after midnight on the 14th! Today's challenge was to create a card for your BFF, so mine is for my BBGF (Best Blogging Girl Friend) Gwen, because she is the one person solely responsible for not only persuading me to start a blog, but also for introducing me to Papertrey Ink!!! She cleverly coined BBGF & she's extremely creative, so stop by her blog & take a peek -- you won't be sorry!!!
I do apologize for the poor photo & I'll try to replace it with a better one tomorrow, but I'm trying to finish this at nearly midnight in my kitchen, as my guests & my husband try to sleep. Unfortunately my craft room is right next to the guest bedroom, which is usually great - except when you actually have guests!!!
I didn't have nearly enough time to create today, but decided to cut around the edge of this velvet paper because I know Gwen loves these papers. I merely edged it & my phrase in Summer Sunrise, added some bling and sheer ribbon. So, time to post/link/and cross my fingers that both my BBGF & I win PTI's awesome prize later today!!!

PTI's Sketch Challenge

The challenge today for Papertrey Ink's fabulous giveaway is to connect the dots and find the sketch from which you are to base your card! A fun/easy sketch too! For my entry I chose PTI's Raspberry Fizz cardstock and Petite Dots from the Raspberry Fizz Mix patterned paper and then added a birthday wish from Heartfelt Basics. I used both Pallette Noir and Raspberry Fizz inks to stamp my phrase, which is one of the reasons I LOVE this stamp set -- the mix of fonts & the ability to mix/match the words/ink colors -- fabulous!!! For embellishments I added a silk flower, pearls and white mulberry paper from my stash. An easy/fun birthday card as well as an easy/fun way to spend an afternoon after being too sick with sinus infection to even create yesterday! Thanks, Nichole, and keep the challenges coming -- we LOVE 'em!!!

PTI's It's in the Bag Challenge

Nichole Heady posted a challenge here today to create, decorate or alter a bag for a fabulous prize including a one-0f-a-kind PTI canvas bag containing a fabulous $100 gift card to Papertry Ink! Talk about exciting!!! Even after no sleep for 3 nights, a trip to the doctor & sinus infection meds, I managed to toss together a decorated bag for the challenge. I was anxious to use both this gorgeous new wired ribbon I received as a gift from our out-of-town guests and the PTI Sweet Love stamp set I recently purchased.
I removed the cord handles from the bag and replaced them with the ribbon. I attached ribbon under the inside flap to hide the end, ran it down the front, across the bottom & up the back and secured under the flap again.
I stamped the solid oval swirl design & Happy Valentine's Day in Pure Poppy on Shimmer cardstock (I love it!), die cut/embossed with my oval Nesties and added two pearls. After attaching it to the center front, I added a pearl heart stick pin through a felt heart from Hobby Lobby above it. Very quick & simple, but I love how the stamped oval and fun heart ribbon dressed up a once plain red bag!!! I'm planning a card to compliment my bag, but I've "run out of gas" tonight, so that will be a project in a day or two!
Paper: PTI's Shimmer cardstock
Stamps: PTI's Sweet Love
Ink: PTI's Pure Poppy
Embellishments: Making Memories Stick Pin, wire-edged ribbon from Costco; felt heart from Hobby Lobby; pearls from stash
