JustRite Friday Challene #095: Window of Opportunity

As I went to put away things on my table today, I decided to throw together a quick little masculine card and chose to make it  a window card that fits JustRite's Friday Challenge that ends tomorrow, making it ahead for Father's Day.
(View shot with window partially open; see next photo!)
This very simple card was created using Recollections Kraft Card Stock and JustRite's Premium Labels clear stamps -- a perfect combination for those 'pesky' masculine cards!
The coordinating dies (Vintage Label & Banner Dies) make this so quick and easy -- cut a window and stamp your chosen stamp inside. I then stamped a different round stamp from the set, cut with a Standard Circles Large #2 die, popping it with foam tape atop the original sentiment (which said 'friend' instead of 'Dad'). Next, took a small scrap of corrugated cardboard, sponged on Black Soot Distress Ink and attached to lower edge of card; stamped my sentiment and die cut with a banner die from same custom die set.
(Inside view -- LOVE that guy stamp!)
Finishing touches: colored 4 tiny stars with a Copic, popped those in place, added a black hemp cord (braided for more 'ruggedness'), popped on a button, tied a knot in the end and done. Ready to give way ahead of Father's Day!

Hmmm, maybe I'll make a coordinating envelope too?!  :*~)

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #109: Mother's Day

For our challenge @ My Sheri Crafts your project should reflect what makes your Mother so unique! My Mother-in-law is a very sweet and special person and there are many things that come to mind that define her. She came from a large family and lived a busy life raising 4 children, 4 step children and helping raise several grandchildren. An avid sewer, quilter and crafter, she possesses far too many talents to list. Since I focused on her sewing previously, today I'm focusing on her joys in life.
Among them are her love of traveling and enjoying nature's beauty. She'd leave the Midwest in winter to enjoy our ocean, parks, mountains, trees, plants, flowers and birds in CA and AZ. We spent many vacation days making sure she saw as much of the two states as we could. When she had her own home, it was always filled with beautiful blooming plants/flowers/trees that would attract birds to her home, patio and yard. I hope this simple little card with glittery butterfly will bring a smile to her face, since she's so very special to us. We can't be there for Mother's Day, but I know she loves receiving cards. Her daughter posts them prominently in her retirement home room for her enjoyment.
Thanks for your visit here today and now that you know a bit about my special MIL, please share your Mother's uniqueness with us @ My Sheri Crafts!

JustRite Friday Challenge #94: Sketch

I was sooo excited to finally use JustRite's Scrolled Vine BG stamp, as I've had it for many months. I think it made an elegant background for this black/cream/bright pink birthday card. Following JustRite's Friday Challenge #94 sketch was the perfect starting point!

My scroll background is stamped in Memento Black Tuxedo ink and backed with metallic pink paper on black card. It's topped off with hot pink tulle in the center, followed by two elegant cuts -- the black metallic and center sentiment pieces -- made with my new beloved Spellbinders' Radiant Rectangles. My sentiment is from another favorite -- JustRite's Grand Sentiments. Finishing off my card are several pink gems and a tulle bow. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #108: Arbor Day

Our latest challenge @ My Sheri Crafts is Arbor Day, so we're asking you to make a card/project featuring trees/nature. My CAS card, which would work for a guy too, is a palm tree in the sand on the beach under the sun -- a place I'm sure MANY folks wish they were right now and I really sympathize with all of you!!!

My palm tree is a clear stamp from Autumn Leaves, stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves, Memento Rich Cocoa and VersaFine Vintage Sepia inks, die cut with Spellbinders Labels Seventeen and then topped off with brown pearls from my stash. A sun in Memento Cantaloupe and sand stamps by Copper Leaf Creations complete my simple scene.
JustRite's Botanical Swirls Labels 'Just Because' sentiment was stamped with Bamboo Leaves ink and die cut with a Labels Sixteen Spellbinders die. Love the leafy swirl around the sentiment on this stamp! Variegated green fiber accents finish off this card.
 We'd love to see your Arbor Day creations over @ My Sheri Crafts, so please join us!

JustRite Friday Challenge #093 - "Suddenly Spring"

For JustRite's Friday Challenge: "Suddenly Spring", I made a pinwheel following directions found here and printing directly onto my October Afternoon's Woodland Park floral paper. Spring to me is beautiful flowers, butterflies, birds singing and building their nests, warm sunshine, children playing (sometimes with pinwheels!) It's my favorite season -- a rebirth/renewal after winter and I happen to have been born in the spring also.
Using a floral image from JustRite's Botanical Butterflies I stamped my pinwheel's center on shrink plastic with Staz-On ink and colored the image with Copics. A drinking straw was wrapped with Washi tape (Target) for my 'handle'. My sentiment is from JustRite's With Gratitude Labels One and the flower was stamped and then cut out with the same stamp used on my shrink plastic 'button', so you can see how much the plastic shrinks!
My card was layered using the following Spellbinders' products:
Imperial M-Bossabilities Folder Side A;
Close-up of JR-stamped shrink plastic button
Standard Circle Dies (pink layer; shrink plastic);
Butterfly Circles (white coffee filter);
Petite Scalloped Circles Large (turquoise layer); and Ribbon Banners (sentiment).
