Halloween Crafting 2008

I made some Halloween decorations for my kids to use in their respective homes this holiday. The door hanger was for my DD's roommate (couldn't leave her out) and the witchy went to them for their apartment also. I made the cat for my son's GF for her apartment (because she has a cat) & the skeleton for my son. He said he and his roommates had the perfect spot for it & they were just decorating their house when it came. It's made of metal and I found it marked down to $1.49 @ Michaels -- couldn't believe the price! I would normally have made him something too, but knew this was perfect for him! Of course they each received a card from me also, among the many that I'd previously made and posted here! Beware of all the spooks & ghouls out there & have a Happy Halloween everyone!!! ;-)

Simple Happy Thanksgiving Door Hanger

A very simple Thanksgiving door hanger, which I left that way since I thought the leaves in the paper were so gorgeous that I'd just let them be. The 12" x 12" leafy sheet is by Provo Craft and is from Michaels. The phrase stamp is from many years ago, as are the ribbons and leaf brads. Since we're seemingly unable to get any very cool weather here in Arizona yet this year, this paper made me remember Thanksgivings from long ago in the Midwest and memories of cooler days!

Possibly my last two door hangers for this holiday??? I usually don't add ribbon on both the top & sides, but I felt the first one needed more orange color. Not as happy with it as I'd hoped to be. Still looking to improve it before I give it to the intended recipient. My friend, Ilene, accidentally left her buttons here on Friday. She'd said I could use some, so the idea hit me to put her shank buttons on the ribbon as slides. These both use the same paper and embellishments as my previous ones. Hope the recipients enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!

Another Door Hanger

(Photo Corrupted/Lost!)
A door hanger for a friend who loves cats! These are so fun to make; hope everyone that gets them likes them as much as I do. My husband even thinks they're neat, so that's really special. Again, I've used Making Memories cardstock from Recollections, Martha Stewart ribbon (all except the narrow black at the top) from Michaels Arts and Crafts and epoxy sticker by Creative Imaginations from Joanns Fabrics. Other ribbon and embellies are from unknown sources.

Halloween Crafting

My friend, Gwen, who encouraged me to start this blog, shared this awesome idea with our stamping group recently. I'm really enjoying making these for family/friends. Thanks, Gwen! I apologize for my lack of photography skills, but I recently purchased my very first camera, so have a lot to learn. Paper used is Making Memories from Recollections and Beware expoxy sticker is by Creative Imaginations from JoAnn Fabrics and Happy Halloween ribbon is by Martha Stewart from Michaels Arts and Crafts.
