PTI April 2010 Blog Hop: Tissue Paper

April's Papertrey Ink challenge was to use tissue paper on a project. Quite a bonus is the fact that our PTI stamps arrive lovingly wrapped in tissue paper, so these could be "green" projects. I purchased an inexpensive candle, as we wanted a vanilla-scented candle for our home. I had previously seen various posts on stamping on candles, but had never tried making my own. I cannot tell you how easy/fun this is to do! Because I know everyone is wanting to hop on to other posts, I'll simply send you to the YouTube video I viewed before tackling my clean and simple project. There are several available, but the one I viewed is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twWA5G6oLP4
Hope you decide to try this fun stamping project that will also enhance the aroma of your home!

JustRite Friday Challenge 014: Double Vision: Mother's Day Card

So excited to use my new JRS Plant a Little Love set that I won by posting my cards on the JRS Flickr gallery! This challenge was perfect for me, as we were required to use two different JRS sets (I have exactly 2) and two differently-shaped Spellbinders' dies (I have many more than 2) -- LOL! This flower stamp was sooo fun to color with my Copics and I couldn't resist using a bit of glitter for the centers. Wanting to keep my focus on those gorgeous flowers, I kept the rest of my card fairly simple. Hope my Mother-in-Law likes it!

Tim Holtz: The Journey Male Birthday Card

I recently began collecting Tim Holtz stamps and his other unique products when I could use a coupon for them @ Michaels. Love his "grunge" style and knew it would be perfect for guy cards. Since my GF Ilene's already sent my hubby a birthday card for the upcoming Friday occasion, I decided I'd better get a card made for him. LOL! So out came Tim's set, The Journey. I enjoyed working with these fabulous acrylic stamps very much and look foward to being able to add more to my tiny collection. Some day, I'd love to have all my Christmas cards done and mailed early and then spend December joining him in making his Twelve Days of Christmas Tags. They are sooo gorgeous and unique, because he includes many of his unique, clever and creative ideas/techniques in each and every tag. If you've never seen these, click on my link above and then you'll find all three years' tags from 2007 through 2009 -- you'll be very glad you did, trust me!!! Enjoy the eye candy!!!

2S4Y Challenge: Kazan's Sketch 49 Sponsored by JustRite

While using this fun Imaginiesce DP on my last project, I kept thinking the flowers would be so pretty colored with soft spring shades. So I took my trusty Copic markers and colored them -- LOVE how my BG turned out! Once I die cut this little bluebird, I just had to use him. Thanks to Kazan @ 2S4Y, I had the perfect sketch. My previously-stamped JRS sentiment was die cut with a round Nestie. To make it work here, I simply cut off the top & bottom, perched my birdie atop, and tied a colorful fiber bow at the center. Fun and done!!!
