JustRite Friday Challenge 020: Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! For this week's JustRite challenge I wanted to honor our United States military, so I used ribbon to create my flag/bunting background. My 2" Round JustRite Stamper was perfect to create my sentiment. I sandwiched it between a blue circle, Martha Stewart scalloped tag & red scalloped circle. I was thrilled to discover the MS tag matches the Spellbinders' Scalloped Circle perfectly!
Paper: PTI's Pure Poppy & White CS; Bazzill's Marine Blue CS
Stamps: JRS 2" Stamper w/15 pt. Times New Roman font & 25 pt. stars
Ink: VersaColor: Cardinal & Indigo
Embellishments: Martha Stewart Die-Cut Lace Tags; Red/White striped & stars ribbons from stash
Tools: Spellbinders' Standard Circle & Classic Scalloped Circle dies

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge

Fabulous felt was our theme for Papertrey Ink's May Blog Hop, so I chose Hawaiian Shores and Vintage Cream felt for my Wedding card. PTI dies include: Mat Stack 1 Die for my center and Beautiful Blooms II small & medium Dies #2 for my corners.

My Sweet Love swirly oval and happy couple sentiment stamped in Hawaiian Shores ink on Mulberry paper showed up best backed with an oval cut from Vintage Cream felt using a Spellbinders' oval die. It's just a tiny bit wider, leaving a slight border at the top & bottom of the stamped image, as seen best in my close-up photo. Love the Hawaiian Shores Mat Stack felt backing, because I had room on the edges for pearls. I simply die cut medium and small flowers in the two colors, stacked & pinched them closed with glue dots, added pearls & mounted them at the corners with more glue dots! LOVE these new dies!!!

Thanks for stopping by tonight and I'm very anxious to see what all you PTI ladies have created for your fabulous felt projects! ;~)

I'm adding this card to PaperPlay's Wedding Celebrations' challenge for this week also.

Happily Ever Challenged #6: Eat Your Heart Out

What a challenging challenge, but that makes them fun, huh?! Ted (HappilyEver Crafter) challenged us to follow his "menu" based upon the last digit in your birth year. Mine is 9 and no other clues regarding my advanced age will be given -- LOL! I had to use 1) grey BG paper (Smokey Shadow by Papertrey Ink; first time to purchase/use this color, which looks more like black with my lack of photography skills), 2) damask or flourish main image done in 3) Poppin' Pastels and 4) flocked primary embellishment. Grey is usually reserved for my guy cards and I've had these brads for over a year, so whattaya think?! At least I used some items from the bowels of my craft room -- flocked brads + chalk! ;-)
Paper: PTI's Smokey Shadow & White CS; silver CS from stash
Stamps: Technique Tuesday's Damask - Small; PTI's Round & Round (2009 Anniversary Set) for Sentiment
Ink: PTI's Charcoal & Versamark (Damask)
Embellishments: Koss Pastels; Creative Imaginations Flocked Brads; Michael's Silver Pearls
Tools: Spellbinders' Labels Six & Fancy Tags Dies

PTI's Beautiful Blooms II Card (Stamp Something & Papertake Weekly Challenges)

Using a sketch by Maren Benedict from Paper Crafts Magazine's Go To Sketches, I made this fun card in turquoise & brown shades (2 colors) for Stamp Something's 2 of Something Challenge. I also used 2 felt embellishments and 2 buttons (3 times) -- LOL! It also qualifies for Papertake Weekly's Challenge: Say it With Flowers.
I'm enjoying using my new PTI Beautiful Blooms II stamps and matching flower dies, as well as their luscious felt. Can't wait to get the newest color: Chartreuse -- YUM! I like the way my EK Success Upper Crest punch compliments PTI's die-cut flower here! For my flower center, I cut felt with a Spellbinder's circle die and then cut slits in it.
Paper: PTI's Hawaiian Shores & Kraft CS; PTI's Dotty Biscotti DP
Stamps: PTI's Beautiful Blooms II
Ink: PTI's Hawaiian Shores
Embellishments: PTI's Felt & Buttons
Tools: PTI Dies: Beautiful Blooms #1 & Rick-Rack; Spellbinder's Circle Die

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 112 - Someone Special Card with PTI Anniversary Set

I need several thank you cards for several special people in my life, so I've been playing with Papertrey Ink's 2009 Anniversary set! In my seemingly never-ending struggle to create lately, I thought I'd follow the lead of one of those very special friends, Gwen, and add this card to the Cute Card Thursday challenge. This set provides many versatile options for layering and sentiment choices. I used the largest Spellbinders' Labels 3 die to frame the main swirly "frame" image, buttons on the focal sunflower image and lots of Tea Dye duo distressing. As a finishing touch, I used Copic markers and colorless blender to color my seam binding & pearl. I then pinched, wadded and smushed it into aged loveliness -- LOL! I'm sooo happy with the end result!
Paper: Papertrey Ink's Vintage Cream CS & Dotty Biscotti DP
Stamps: PTI's 2009 Anniversary Set

Tools: PTI's Mat Stack 1 and Spellbinders' Label 3 & Ribbon Trio dies; Copics: RV14, RV19
