Another Smitten Valentine

Look somewhat familiar??? Liked the Page Maps sketch so much that I went ahead and made a second Valentine nearly identical to my previous Cardvaarks' challenge entry! Do you ever do that? This card features a Spellbinders' scalloped heart die cut in place of the circle topped by a Smitten die cut that included the glittery sentiment. Love the colors in these papers and this fabulous sketch!

PTI January, 2010 Blog Hop: Total Package Challenge

For tonight's Total Package Blog Hop I used PTI's Giga Guide Lines, Sweet Blush CS and the Birthday Wishes sentiment on my card front, along with a houndstooth check patterned DP (source unknown) punched with my EK Success Border Punch (which name escapes me right now - wish they'd put them on the punch somewhere!) through which I laced Offray 1/8" soft pink ribbon.
On my inside I decided to use Spellbinders Fancy Tags for my sentiment "holder" and a Heartfelt Basics sentiment to complete the birthday greeting.
On my card back, I always add my PTI handmade by greeting and my initials (or Mom if it's for one of our children)! Here I've carried through the houndstooth patterned/punched paper for a little "punch"!!! ;-)
Thanks for stopping by tonight -- I sincerely appreciate it & can't wait to see what all you other hoppers have created!!!

Simple One-Layer Valentine with Cuttlebug & Core'dinations

I recently won 2 generous packs of Core'dinations papers (thanks again, Maggie!), which I've always been curious about! One pack includes Whitewash and Black Magic papers. The colors cores are either whitewashed or covered in black so that when you emboss, sand, tear or antique it, the color core shows beautifully through. I chose a whitewashed pink to emboss with my new Cuttlebug Flourished Frame folder, then lightly sanded the embossing. It gave such a soft, subtle look that I decided to keep it soft and simple, stamping my swirly heart and sentiment, and just sprinkling a few pearls for a little extra glam. So fun to play with new product!!!
Paper: Core'dinations WhiteWash Collection CS
Stamps: PTI's Sweet Love & Mixed Messages
Ink: PTI's Charcoal ; pink (source unknown)

Caardvarks Challenge Card: Smitten Stitched Valentine

Whipped up this little Valentine card today for the current Cardvaarks Challenge sponsored by JustRite Stampers for this sketch presented by Page Maps. I used my lovely K & Company "Smitten" papers and my one & only JustRite Stamper. To accent the white in my patterned paper, I backed my die-cut heart with a white scalloped circle containing my JustRite sentiment, as well as white machine stitching for the vertical lines in the sketch. I like how it all came together -- a really fun sketch to work with!
Paper: PTI's White CS; K & Company's Smitten DP
Stamp: JustRite 2 3/8" Round Stamper & Times New Roman 25 pt. Font
Ink: VersaColor's Opera Pink

Valentine: Lace, Pearls & a Smitten Rub-On

My Valentine supplies are basically all over my craft room & in going through them I re-discovered this unfinished card from last year. Simply cut from the largest Spellbinders' Plain Heart Die, placed just off the fold on the lower left so it will open, I just love the feminine lace, pearls and K & Company floral heart rub-on. I'm sure I based this on something I saw on a blog, but sadly I have no idea now who to credit. To give it a nicely finished look, I cut another single large heart and used 1/4" Score Tape to cover the lace on the back side. Once I decide who it's going to, I'll add my inside sentiment. Do you usually do that at a later time? I almost never finish the inside until I know who I'll send my card to.

Happy Birthday DD

Since our DD is fond of all things furry, I chose this fun little Hamster Eating Cupcake image from Mo Manning for her birthday card. I knew that coloring fur would be a total challenge for me, so decided this was the perfect chance to jump into it for the Copic Creations Challenge No. 19. Thanks to my BBGF (best blogging GF) Gwen alerting me to a new challenge she found, I'm entering here: The Pink Elephant Challenge #49, which is simply to make a birthday card. Love that!
EDITED TO ADD: Just found Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #13, so I'm also adding my little hamster there!
Paper: Georgia Pacific White CS; blue & orange CS from stash
Digi Image: Birthday Hamster by Mo Manning
Stamps: Hero Arts (sentiments)
Ink: VersaColor Sky Blue
Copics: E00, E31, E33, B21, B24, Y11, Y17

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #51: Smitten Valentine

Trying to get my creative mojo "mojoing", so after seeing Gwen's ADORABLE post for Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #51 and the DT posts, I decided I needed to just follow the sketch quite literally. Maybe my mojo will just magically reappear if I quit trying so hard! Besides, it's definitely NOT another Vintage Ornaments Christmas card -- LOL! I'm trying also to use up papers and embellishments I've had forever. Used Spellbinders' scalloped heart dies on my die cuts to make them smaller and added distress ink to "perk up" my lace trim. I'm quite happy with the result!

Stamp: Stampendous' Spring Swirls set
Ink: Ranger/Tim Holtz Tattered Rose & Worn Lipstick Distress Inks

Simple Lattice Heart Valentine Card

While crafting with friends yesterday, I got to use this new Martha Stewart scalloped heart punch my friend Ilene brought with her. I had originally planned to put a sentiment on the front, but decided that this punched strip made enough of a statement all on it's own! I made the card 5" x 7" to be able to include three of these gorgeous lattice hearts on it!
Paper: Chile Pepper CS; PTI's Silver CS
Embellishments: the Paper Studio's Silver Classic Border (Hobby Lobby)
Tools: MS Punch Lattice Heart Deep Edge Punch; EK Success Scalloped Edge punch (along bottom)

Color Challenge LPSC48 w/PTI Vintage Ornaments: Blue & Silver

Okay, I admit that I "might" be a bit hung up on this Vintage Ornament set, but I honestly couldn't pass up trying Little Paper Shop's color combo challenge of Navy/Lt. Blue/Silver, which I've wanted to do ever since I did this card in blue/gold. So I think you'll continue seeing this set--right up until I have to finally return it to its rightful owner (or I order my very own) -- LOL!!! The good part for me is I already have an early start on next year's Christmas stash!
Paper: SU Night of Navy & Bashful Blue CS; Silver CS (scrap)
Stamps: LPS Christmas Tags (sentiment) & PTI's VIntage Ornaments & Vintage Ornaments Additions
Ink: VersaMark & ColorBox : Royal Blue
Embellishments: DeNami Silver EP; Paper Studio Silver Classic Border Stickers; Michaels' Silver Pearls
