Papertrey Ink December 2010 Blog Hop: Holiday Leftovers

Papertrey Ink's December Blog Hop challenge is to recycle holiday leftovers -- the wrapping paper, ribbon, tags, etc. -- into a new creation. For this challenge I used gorgeous pine cone wrapping paper in coppery brown, cream and gold to die cut one large pine cone, framing it with metallic gold foil cut from the largest Spellbinders' Lacey Square. I then cut my PTI Vintage Cream CS into a 5 1/4" square card, cutting off the lower tip of the "diamond" so it will stand. I stamped my Happy Winter sentiment from PTI's Wreath for All Seasons in Dark Chocolate ink on a Spellbinders' tag. I altered the end of the tag by snipping off the right ribbon slot with my curved scissors and slipped it onto cream raffia that had been tied to the handles of a wine/cheese gift bag we received this year. I ran the raffia through the lacey slots on the left and right at the top of my frame, tied a bow, and it's all ready to be given away to brighten someone's day!

Day in the Country: QuicKutz Style

It feels sooo good to make anything other than a Christmas card -- LOL! I'm assuming I'm not the only one who feels that way right about now?!!!
So I decided to do a completely different card, using this QuicKutz  barn and silo die and a sentiment that I think fits the "scene" perfectly! I think this would make a great masculine card for just about any occasion. Remember that Creating Everlasting Memories eBay store has many QuicKutz dies available at great prices all the time, so check it out! ;~)

Die: QuicKutz Barn
Paper: Making Memories 6"x6" 'Travel' pad
Stamps: JustRite's "A Day in the Country" and Pine Trees (source unknown)
Ink: Memento's Rich Cocoa
Other: Bronze Craft Foil (Spellbinders)

Snowmen Fall from Heaven Unassembled: JustRite Style

I recently saw this sentiment and adorable card on Becca Feeken's blog here, but knew I'd not get the stamp in time for creating/mailing my DDs card, so I improvised. Using JustRite's 15 pt. and 25 pt. Times New Roman and 50 pt. Myriad Pro lower case fonts, I created the outside and inside sentiments. Have I said lately how much I LOVE JustRite's fonts?!

Amongst my HUGE stash of Christmas papers, I could find only ONE that had snowmen on it, so that is what I used.

I won't go into details of my search for the bag holding my unassembled snowman, but suffice it to say I hope my new friend, Teresa, will let me repay her sweet kindness one day soon! Who knew just asking the "right person" in a store for something they didn't even carry would have such sweet results,  because she happens to be a card maker too?! ;~)

Hope DD loves her card after much effort spent trying to emulate Becca's darling creation!

Paper: DeNami Designs 2005 DP; DCWV CS
Stamps: JustRite Times New Roman 15pt., 25 pt. fonts and 50 pt. Myriad Pro Lower Case font
Ink: VersaMark and VersaFine Onyx Black
Embellishments: Divine Twine's red/white twine; MS White EP
Tools: Spellbinders' Wizard; RicRac Scalloped Piercerabilities border die

Marge's Monday Card Corner for CMIT (December, 2010)

Welcome back to my Monday Card Corner for our Creating Memories in Time blog! My card this month features QuicKutz dies ("House", "Trees", "Mini Van" -- used just the hub cap for my wreath!), combined with My Mind's Eye's "Where the Heart Is" designer papers. Last Christmas Cards for 2010 (Maybe?)

Here's what I believe will be the last Christmas cards of 2010, but often I miss someone and end up needing to quickly make 1 or 2 more, so we'll see?!! I've tried to make the bulk of them flatter/easier to mail this year, but still prefer most of them to be classy/elegant. A sweet friend gave me these stickers, so I just had to use them -- they're sooo beautiful!!! I'm really pleased with them, and happy I could achieve classy/elegant and not have to bling them up so they're bulky/difficult/expensive to mail.
Paper: PTI's Vintage Cream, Gold and White Shimmer CS; Chili Pepper CS
Stamp: PTI's Vintage Ornaments set
Ink: Gold Encore Metallic
Embellishments: The Paper Studio (ornaments); Stampendous Class A Peel (snowflake & Star Chains) stickers; Krylon Silver Leafing Pen
Tools: Spellbinders' Wizard and Fancy Tags Die

A Snowy Little Card: Cuttlebug Style

I had embossed this white CS a looong time ago and decided I'd just pair it with some bright red CS and simple snowflake and chain stickers. Sometimes the simplest CAS Christmas card just "strikes my fancy" and this one fits the bill!  ;-)

Not much explanation needed here, so I'll just give you the short and sweet details:

Papers: Chili Pepper Linen CS (XPedX); white from stash
Embellishments: Stampendous Stickers: Snowflakes (Holographic Silver) & Star Chain Brite
Tools: Cuttlebug's Winter Wonderland EF (set of 6)

Have Yourself a "Moose-y" Little Christmas!!!

Had sooo much fun creating this "moose-y" Christmas card for a special guy in our lives. If I told you how old the DP is, you'd likely have heart problems, or a really good belly laugh, but hey -- they don't call me a paper hoarder for nothin' -- LOL!
Anyway I really love how this manly greeting card turned out and now WISH I had more than half a sheet of this 8 1/2 x 11-inch paper left -- sigh!
I actually made one similar card last year & forgot to photograph it before mailing, so had to make another. I have no idea how I finished it off, just know I used this same DP, stamp and die. Hate when I forget to photograph my cards!
Inside of Card
Paper: PTI's Kraft CS; Core'dination's CS; "Old" DP
Stamps: Rubber Monger (Moose); All Night Media's Large Towering Tree; PTI's 2009 Holiday Tag Collection and Holiday Spirit Sentiments
Ink: Memento's Rich Cocoa, Cottage Ivy and Pear Tart; Ranger's Walnut Stain Distress
Embellishments: Grosgrain Ribbon, metal studs (stash)
Tools: Spellbinders' Large Labels
