Papertrey Ink August, 2011 Blog Hop: Inspirational Photo Challenge

An inspirational photo (shown below) challenged us this month for Papertrey Ink's blog hop -- another great photo because it can be interpreted in so many ways! My inspiration came from the lady's checked dress and the bouquet of flowers. Every product used on my very CAS card is available at Papertrey Ink with the exception of the DMC embroidery floss and Sakura Jelly Roll glitter pen.
Using PTI's Stampers Select White CS for my 1/4 fold card, I die cut the right edge with Edger's #3 Die. Bitty Box Basics paper was used to cut a Half & Half die shape, as well as a 1" piece with the Edger's die. I glued this inside my card's right edge so it just peeks out for a tiny pop of color. LOVE the Half & Half and edger dies and I will use the larger edger on my envelope's edge too!
My stem, flower and sentiment from Botanical Silhouettes are stamped with Landscape and Raspberry Fizz inks. I think the Jelly Roll glitter pen adds a nice touch to my bloom! Then I simply tied embroidery floss through a PTI button for a very quick and simple finish.

Thanks for coming by and have a hopping good time today!!!

JustRite Friday Challenge 043: Show Your Support

I chose to use "Thinking of You" for the JustRite challenge to "show support" this week and designer papers in my favorite color. I really love the versatility of JustRite stamps, this sentiment in particular, and that it fits perfectly in the middle-sized Spellbinders' Nested Hearts die. I embossed that same die on DP, hand cut along the outside edge and placed it behind my stamped heart for added color/accent. A bit of lace, some leaf ribbon and a paper rose finishes off my card -- hope you like it as much as I do!!!
Paper: K & Company's "Margo" DP; Cosmo Cricket's "Material Girl"; PTI's Vintage Cream CS
Stamp: JustRite's Just a Note Borders & Centers
Ink: Memento's Pear Tart
Embellishments: Lace (Hobby Lobby); Leaf Ribbon (enhanced with Copic YG 03) and  Paper Rose
Tools: Spellbinders' Wizard; Nested Heart Dies

WHAT IS AN “ATC”???

ATC stands for Artistic Trading Cards….they are the size of a baseball card (2.5” x 3.5"}, come in many themes and people trade them as though they are trading cards. For our first ATC Tuesday you can choose any theme you like; from time to time I will publish a theme to be used so you can join in the ATC fun.

I've personally never made an ATC, so this is an exciting new venture for me, so be sure to check back on Tuesday to see what I come up with! AND I hope many of you will join us -- I can't wait to see what all you talented crafters create too!!!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #19: Missing You

Sheri's
challenge this week: create a 'Missing You' project. I chose "It's Been Too Long" from Everyday Button Bits stamp set, adding a little swirly image from Vintage Labels above and below my sentiment and tiny Kaiser Craft chocolate pearls. Stamps are all from Papertrey Ink.
I just LOVE this paisley print in russet browns, peony pinks and spring greens from Basic Grey's Sultry paper pad. My sentiment frame is die cut with Spellbinders' Ribbon Tags Trio Two. For accent I then embossed the die again and hand cut the outermost edge before lacing my sheer brown ribbon through both. I cut a strip of pale pink paper from the pad, misted it with water and embossed it with Spellbinders' Paisley Impressabilities. My paisley print & brown papers were then both edge punched with Fiskars' Upper Crest punch.
Have a great day and I sincerely appreciate your taking time to come here!

Note: Click here: Sheri has a great selection of Spellbinders' dies and other great products available.
