My Sheri Crafts Challenge #153: Easter Wishes!

For our current challenge @ My Sheri Crafts we're asking that you create an Easter card including EITHER a bunnies, eggs or a cross.

I seldom send many Easter cards any more, but in my 'spring' stamps and embellishments I discovered some Studio G stamps, as well as a tiny bunny from Inkadinkado. Looking at them, I decided to re-create one of those plastic eggs used for an egg hunt -- it's supposed to look like the itty-bitty bunny and some small eggs spilled out when the child opened the large plastic egg -- at least that was my hope?!

I embellished the top with a banner from JustRite's Buntings and Banners Clear Stamps and cut/Copic colored my lower edge with Spellbinders' Curved Borders Two and rounded my corners with the WRMK Corner Chomper.

Can't wait to see your Easter Wishes cards @ MSC!!!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #81: Easter Pastels

The theme I chose for My Sheri Crafts Challenge this week is Easter and using pastel colors on your project.
I had sooo much fun creating this Easter card and my handmade flowers from coffee filters! The paper/flowers reminded me of dressing up for Easter Sunday. I used cone-shaped coffee filters and discovered that the Spellbinders' Spiral Blossoms One fit perfectly. Since it's a folded cone shape, it cuts 2 flowers (or you could slit it apart and cut just 1).
There's also room to cut a few leaves out of the left-over pieces -- who could ask for more? The soft paper filters are easy to roll up/work with. I spritzed mine with Tattered Angels Cherub Pink (Olive Vine for the leaves), let dry and rolled them up.
That fabulous Easter sentiment is from the new clear JustRite Spring Words stamp set -- LOVE it! It's popped up on a Spellbinders' Lacey Square that I modified by re-cutting one edge to make it a rectangle, which better fit my greeting.
PLEASE pop over & see all the other DT creations @ My Sheri Crafts for this bi-weekly Challenge; we'd LOVE to have you join us with your own project too!!!
Here's a close-up of my coffee filter flowers:

Happy Easter Chick Gift Box: QuicKutz Style and BLOG CANDY

I've had this wooden "egg-shaped" box for a looong time, so decided it was the perfect shape for an Easter treat. The box is covered in handmade paper that reminded me of hand-dyed eggs.  I cut the chick (QuicKutz/Lifestyle Crafts die #Rev-0184-S) using craft felt and the egg from the same die in Bazzill Shimmer CS. The egg and box edges are distressed with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Chick/egg are grounded with Toffee FlowerSoft.
A Happy Easter greeting and small egg adorn the front side of my treat box, die cut with QuicKutz Nameplate die RS-0624, edged with Antique Linen Distress Ink and stamped by stamping off once. This is achieved by stamping the inked egg/sentiment first on scratch paper before stamping onto the die cut, which lightened my Memento Bahama Blue dye ink so it better matches the blue in my handmade paper. The die cut and my chick's eye are accented with ZVA Creative light blue pearls.

This chick die, plus MANY others, ZVA Creative Pearls, Tim Holtz Distress Inks and FlowerSoft products are all available at Creating Everlasting Memories EBay store.

Some Bunny Loves You: QuicKutz Style

This sweet little bunny with it's little "fuzzy" paws and that soft-as-bunny-fur bow is definitely ready to brighten someone's day!!! I've used QuicKutz dies for both my scalloped BG (Journaling Block REV-0226-D) and my bunny, stamped on a Nesting Tag (CC-SHAPE-6-023). The Studio G wooden stamp was inked with Memento Tuxdeo Black ink, colored/edged with Copics, mounted to DCWV DP and Bazzill card and has q-tip tips for paws.

Wouldn't he/she be just the cutest little surprise tucked into a child's lunchbox?!

Please check out Creating Everlasting Memories for great bargains on the following products: QuicKutz/Lifestyle Crafts items, ZVA Creative Pearls, as well as many other fabulous crafting supplies!

Hope you're having a wonderful, crafty day today wherever you are in this great big world of ours!!!

Happy Easter (Copic Creations Challenge: Coloring Embellishments with Copics)

Coloring embellishments with Copics is one of my favorite things to use them for so Copic Creations Challenge 22 was "right up my alley"! My Easter card includes both ribbon and gemstones colored with Copics. I also colored the flowers and stems on my little Easter egg, but they are so tiny there was no chance to do any shading - LOL! I used white sheer ribbon & colored it first with Copic V15 (Mallow) and then added V17 (Amethyst) to just the edges to darken them -- LOVE how it turned out! The flower center gems & gems on my sentiment tag were also colored with Copic V17. I had colored the lavender gem on my ribbon with V17, but I didn't like it, so used 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to remove it, leaving the original color which better coordinates with my tag and egg. Fun to experiment with Copics to get just the result you want!
Paper: PTI's White, Plum Pudding & Lavender Moon CS
Stamps: Technique Tuesday's "So Eggcited" set; Inkadinkado (sentiment)
Ink: PTI's Plum Pudding; Versamark

Easter Chickies!!!

Wow, cannot believe Easter is only a week away (even less really)! Don't usually send Easter cards & don't think I'd have enough made if I did this year, but maybe I'll surprise a couple people with one, after all! Had to make this, as my friend Ilene was here with all the goodies to do these on Friday. Who can resist sweet little chick, eggs, tulips? Not me!!! This little card is just too sweet, I think!!!

New Holiday Rubber Stamp Idea

As my dear friend, Gwen, and I are discussing what we're making for a Christmas card on email tonight, my brother coincidentally sends me an email, saying: "Due to increasing age, forgetfulness, and my decreasing ability to send cards on time here is my card to cover every Holiday" with the accompanying photo! Too funny!!! Gwen & I both had the idea it should be posted here! Enjoy!!!
Gwen thinks someone needs to make this into a stamp -- we could spend our time making cards for every occasion BUT a national holiday then & save a lot on postage, huh?!!! I like the frig posting idea too!!! LOL!!! Aren't email and the Internet wonderful -- what did we ever do before we had them?!!!

Some Bunny Loves You!

Ever had one of those days where everything hits you wrong & you just want to cry because you feel like you can't cope & you're such a disappointment to everyone you really care about? That was my yesterday, but I talked to everyone I felt like I'd disappointed/failed and by the time I went to sleep, I knew it will all be okay. Just take each day one at a time & stop stressing over things in life that come up & you just cannot control/change -- seems so simple/logical now! Stuff happens & it always will -- all at once in a big lump too; never slow/easy/one thing at a time -- nope, not gonna happen that way! ;-) Thank God for sweet, understanding friends/family that make it all worth it & who are there for you when you truly feel like a failure. Crying sometimes helps, but mostly it just causes me sinus congestion & a headache, but that's just another one of those things I can't control.
Soooooo, my solution to getting over my headache was to papercraft, of course! Everything else got put on hold last night & I got out my new little $1 Studio G stamps and my bright, spring colors and Some Bunny Loves You is the result! Hope you like him because he made me feel brighter & more hopeful, just like spring does!!! I have to tell you this simple card layout is becoming an all-time favorite because it's so adaptable to so many punch shapes & so easy to dress up or down/make cutesy or elegant, as my friend Ilene just mentioned yesterday. It's the same basic layout I used for Simple Punched Thank You Card posted on January 9th and the Black & White Floral Rosette card posted on January 3rd! I'm lovin' it!!! Hmmmm, would maybe be a good one for an SBS8 Challenge!!!
