My Sheri Crafts Challenge #085: Wedding/Anniversary

My Sheri Crafts latest challenge: create a wedding/anniversary card using black/white + a POP of color! I always enjoy working with a black/white + 1 color theme -- just sooo many possibilities. For our challenge I chose a black/white Damask Notepad paper by Teresa Collins and decided to let the quote, "Loved you yesterday, love you still; always have, always will" stand unobstructed, designing the rest of my card around it.
For my "pop" of red I cut my heart from Core'dinations' Glitter Silk CS and added a narrow edge detail with Papertrey Ink's Edgers #3 die. My JustRite sentiment was stamped in black and die cut with Spellbinders' Nested Pennants, then nestled inside the heart frame, along with a bitty heart gem I colored Lipstick Red with Copic R29. Want2Scrap's black gem swirl finishes it all off!
Here's YOUR challenge: concoct your very own wedding/anniversary card in black/white + a pop of color  and JOIN US @ My Sheri Crafts for this challenge, as we'd LOVE to see what you create using this fun theme!!!
Paper: Core'dinations Glitter Silk; Teresa Collins Damask Notepad CS; white CS
Stamps: JustRite's Wedding Nested Sentiments
Ink: PTI's True Black
Dies: Spellbinders' Nested Pennants; Provo Craft's Concentric Heart; PTI's Edgers #3
Bling: Want2Scrap; Amuse Twinkle Stickers

JustRite Friday Challenge 046: Technique - Scoring!

The first JustRite Friday Challenge for 2011 is sponsored by Scor-Pal and is to use scoring on your card (other than for the card's fold)! Using a 1" strip cut from an old book page, I scored every 1/4" and then secured the ends of my long strip, forming a circular BG embellishment for my sentiment from JustRite's Romantic Sentiments. I then die-cut my SB's Inverted Circle from my striped CS and added scoring between the black lines for more accent, plus a narrow scored book-page strip along the bottom edge. Unfortunately, I don't own the Scor-Pal, because it would have been much faster/easier to score the book page strips without having to move them to score every 1/4"!
Paper: DCWV Striped Black and Cream CS (All Dressed Up stack); black, cream CS (from stash); old book page
Stamps: JustRite Romantic Sentiments Set
Ink: Memento's Tuxedo Black; Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress Ink
Embellishments: Martha Stewart Ribbon; A'Muse Twinkle Stickers
Tools: Spellbinders' Wizard and Inverted Circle Die; Copic R35 (to color clear heart gem)

JustRite Friday Challenge 035: Christmas in September/Holiday Tag

JustRite's weekly challenge is sponsored by Spellbinders, so their new Fanciful Holiday was perfect for my tag. Using Copic's Cool Grays in my air compressor, I created a multihued sky. (Wouldn't this BG be perfect for a Halloween tag using SB's new Halloween dies?!) Did you know JustRite now sells Copic Markers in singles & sets? Click here to go directly to their catalog.
Rudolph is flying across the night sky with a reminder for us to "Believe"! JustRite's 15 pt. Times New Roman font was the perfect size to create his banner. Pretty sure those folks on the snowy ground below believe,
as they've decorated an outdoor Christmas tree -- LOL!
My reindeer & tree were cut from Spellbinders' Premium Craft Foil in gold & green. When coloring the pot brown, I saw that the alcohol marker removed the green. Since I'd accidentally removed some from the tree, I grabbed my rubbing alcohol & paper towel & removed it all. I then airbrushed the whole tree with Copic G07. So a happy little accident, as I now know I can have whatever color/shade of foil I desire! I just LOVE Copics' versatility!!!
My snow is simply torn white glitter paper and my moon a SB circle die cut from it & airbrushed with Copic Y11. The little red star tree topper was from my stash, so I colored clear gems with Copic R27. Adding Amuse tiny twinkle stars in the sky and red, green & gold fibers finished off this tag. The small photo better shows off the sparkly gems.

PTI: 2009 Holiday Tags: Christmas Tree

Got my Christmas present from Hubby today (even though we really don't exchange gifts), but it can't go under the tree, as I need it to make cards for our Holiday card giving! Lucky me!!! We have four children between us with 3 December birthdays (both boys on the same day even) and our youngest in mid-January, so between their birthdays & Christmas for them & his 2 grandchildren, we rarely "do" Christmas gifts for each other. Honestly, we just get the things we "need" throughout the year & concentrate on them at this time! So, here's my very first little card from Papertrey's Holiday Tags -- I LOVE this set! Everything here is PTI except the ribbon from my stash.
Paper: PTI's White & Pure Poppy CS, Holiday Vintage Prints DP
Stamps: PTI's 2009 Holiday Tag Collection
Ink: PTI's Pure Poppy & Ripe Avocado
Embellishments: Amuse Stickers: Star & Rhinestones (Copic Colored w/R29 Lipstick Red); ribbon from stash
Tools: Spellbinders Wizard & Double-Ended Tag Dies

PTI October Blog Hop: Holiday Tea

I always thought these red/green tea leaves papers would make such a beautiful Christmas card and even though I was unsuccessful in actually finding Christmas tea yet in my little neighborhood store, I just had go ahead and make the card anyway! I really like the outcome! I combined PTI's Tea for Two and Everyday Classics sentiments to get my "Christmas blend" phrase and used a Michael's $1 stamp and Copic-colored gems for the holly & berries on my handmade little "teabag" label. To make that tiny thing was the hardest part of this card. I first cut & embossed one of my tiny original Spellbinder rectangles, then used my SU ticket corner punch and trimmed off the top part of the rectangle to acheive a better teabag shape. I then cut one itty-bitty holly leaf from my $1 stamp (something I often do with my stamps), stamped it, added the 3 little berry "gems" colored with my R29 Copic marker and crochet thread "string"! I felt it just added the perfect little detail to my Christmas tea card!!!
