Happy Easter (Copic Creations Challenge: Coloring Embellishments with Copics)

Coloring embellishments with Copics is one of my favorite things to use them for so Copic Creations Challenge 22 was "right up my alley"! My Easter card includes both ribbon and gemstones colored with Copics. I also colored the flowers and stems on my little Easter egg, but they are so tiny there was no chance to do any shading - LOL! I used white sheer ribbon & colored it first with Copic V15 (Mallow) and then added V17 (Amethyst) to just the edges to darken them -- LOVE how it turned out! The flower center gems & gems on my sentiment tag were also colored with Copic V17. I had colored the lavender gem on my ribbon with V17, but I didn't like it, so used 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to remove it, leaving the original color which better coordinates with my tag and egg. Fun to experiment with Copics to get just the result you want!

Ink: PTI's Plum Pudding; Versamark

PTI February Blog Hop: Design Team Appreciation Day!

For PTI's Blog Hop we were to go through the Design Team gallery or DT Members' blogs and find a project that is especially inspirational to us and recreate the project with our own spin, making it unique! Though nearly impossible to decide from ALL the DT's unbelievable inspiration, I chose Mish's post here. It turned out "unique" in that I changed my mind about a dozen times, finally opting to not use buttons or the circle shape for my main image. Even though it changed repeatedly, I had fun making my own "ribbon" from bias tape & the small flower from BB: Petal Power! Thanks for hopping by tonight and a huge thank you to all the inspiration you DT ladies heap upon us -- keep it coming!!!
Paper: PTI's Black, White & Raspberry Fizz CS

PTI's Floral Embellishment Challenge

Day 13 of the Anniversary celebration continues today @ PTI where our mission was to design some type of floral embellishment, create a card using it AND an acetate sheet of the embellishments to send to/share with a special stamping friend! I chose Friends 'Til the End for my flower, stamped extra flower centers, and punched those out with a 3/4" punch, mounted with a pop dot & topped it with a green gem. Hope my friend likes them!!!

PTI's Origami Challenge

Today's Anniversary challenge from Nichole @ PTI is "to create a project that somehow integrates origami of some sort or another". Being short on time today due to laundry, cleaning for returning company and going to get my hair done, I decided to make this little card which was inspired by a card purchased for me by an Asian friend a few years back. She got it for me because she thought I'd be able to duplicate it by hand. I love how it turned out, except if I were doing it over I'd not use white core cardstock. It was impossible to get the crisp, sharp origami folds without the white core showing. Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained, huh?!!! I still LOVE it & will do another, I'm sure . . .now IF I could win the Asian Fusion stamp set somehow . . . hmmm . . . .
Paper: Two Cool Double-sided CS (Costco); pink liner (stash)
Stamps: PTI'sTurning a New Leaf (Leaves), Out on a Limb (flower), Everyday Classics (Anniversary set)

Copic Creations Challenge #21: Feather Blending

Learning feather blending with my Copics is going to take me a bit of time, but it was a fun challenge (Copic Creations) to try after weeks of hearts everywhere and not coloring for quite awhile! Found this adorable little "flower girl" image at Scrapcoloring.com to use for my first try. Isn't she a cutie? Took this photo in the late evening, so guess that's why my BG paper doesn't appear to match her outfit, but in real life it's a perfect match to her socks. Okay, back to practicing for me -- thanks for stopping by!
Paper: Georgia-Pacific White CS (Wal-Mart); Green Bazzill & Lt. Prawn CS (from stash)

CPS Sketch 153: Cherish You, Valentine!

My entry for the CPS Sketch #153 Challenge sponsored by PTI is a masculine Valentine for a very special guy in my life! When I got my first Core'dinations Black Magic CS, I knew I wanted to use some masculine colors with my Tartan Cuttlebug folder for a male relative's Valentine and it just couldn't have any hint of pink or red or ribbon of any kind. Here's my embossed & sanded result -- hope he likes it!!!
Paper: Core'dinations Black Magic CS; Basic Grey's Aged & Confused Vagabond DP; Black & Denim CS from stash
Tools/Accessories: Spellbinders' Wizard; Tartan Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Queen & Co. buckle; vinyl stickers; sandpaper

PTI's "Paint" by Number Challenge

Nichole's Anniversary Celebration Day 8 challenge was to create a card using a color palette assigned by the first letter of your online username, as shown to the right. I honestly found it nearly impossible to use Raspberry Fizz in this palette, so ended up using very little! Because a sketch is a jumping-off point to inspire creation, I took "creative license" with not only that color, but the card/layer sizes (as I had no Orange Zest or Terracotta Tile PTI papers). After many attempts/struggles, I do like the resulting card.
Paper: PTI's Ripe Avocado, Raspberry Fizz, SS White CS; SU Pumpkin (???) & Bazzill Scalloped-edge CS; PTI's Friends 'Til the End DP
Stamp: PTI's Mixed Messages
Ink: PTI's Raspberry Fizz
Tools/Accessories: EK Success Scalloped Punch; Offray Ribbon; a-Muse Creative Candy (gems) colored w/Copic RV19

Happy Birthday Ilene

For my dear friend Ilene's birthday, I made a 3-D layered card as first seen done here (scroll down a ways for her video) by Sherry Cheever, a Spellbinders' DT member. Totally enjoyed this layering challenge and Ilene loved her card! At this moment I cannot remember the site I downloaded my graphic from, but I will find it and edit this post at that time!
EDITED: Found this fabulous free image here:

PTI's Emboss Resist Challenge

For my first-ever attempt at emboss resist for PTI's challenge today, I decided to follow Nichole's lead. Just received Turning a New Leaf & coordinating DP yesterday and wanted to play with them. I could use a bit more practice at this technique, but it's a fun one to try! I grabbed VersaMark Champagne Dazzle instead of plain VersaMark, so went with it! I like the way it left creamy embossed leaves on my Vintage Cream cardstock, very close to the leaves on the DP I used! Can't wait to see what all you seasoned Emboss Resist crafters come up with -- thanks for popping by today!
Paper: PTI's Vintage Cream & Spring Moss CS; Turning a New Leaf DP
Stamps: PTI's Turning a New Leaf & Autumn Abundance (sentiement)

PTI's Birthday Bash Challenge #6

Papertrey Ink's 3rd Anniversary bash is well under way, so stop by Nichole's blog & check out all the fun!!! For my 6th challenge card I chose Tiffany Pastor's fun birthday greetings sentiment. I wanted a masculine card so chose PTI's Ocean Tides CS and coordinating Green Tea Leaves DP, eyelets, button and twine. It's now dark here, so my photograph isn't great, but I'll upload a clearer one tomorrow.
Paper: PTI's SS White & Ocean Tides CS; Green Tea Leaves DP
Sentiment: Tiffany Pastor's Download
Tools/Accessories: PTI's Holiday Mix Vintage button; MM's Slot Tool & ribbon; Crop-a-Dile; Copic #BG000; eyelets & twine from stash

PTI's Birthday Bash Challenge #5

Moving right along to my fifth card today for PTI's challenge on their huge 3rd Anniversary celebration Day 2! Having so much fun & creating a nice little birthday card stash to boot!!! That's always a GOOD thing -- besides I have a dear friend with a birthday on Thursday & she's always trying to figure out which card of mine she might be receiving, so can't wait to tell her tonight that she needs to look at my blog, as her birthday card MIGHT be posted -- LOL!!! This adorable cuppie was created for the challenge today by none other than Heather Nichols.
Paper: PTI's SS White, Ocean Tides & Dark Chocolate CS
Sentiment Stamp: PTI's Everyday Classics (2008 Anniversary Set)
Graphic: Heather Nichols' Download
Tools/Accessories: Spellbinders' Wizard, Ribbon Tags & Labels One Dies; ribbon from stash

PTI's Birthday Bash Challenge #4

Challenge #4 for me today for PTI's 3rd Anniversary celebration is a sweet download from Lisa Johnson. I thought this sentiment fit so well in the Spellbinders' Labels 4 die and have always loved Raspberry Fizz & black together, so that was my inspiration for this card. Rushing right along to No. 5, here are my details for this one:
Paper: PTI's SS White & Raspberry Fizz CS
Sentiment: Lisa Johnson's Download
Tools/Accessories: Spellbinders' Wizard & Labels 4 Die; PTI's Raspberry Fizz Swiss Dot Satin Ribbon

PTI's Birthday Bash Challenge #3

For PTI's Anniversary challenge #3 today (for details see this post), I chose this adorable star candle sentiment from Melissa Bickford for a fun little birthday card. Again, because I'm rushing to see how many I can get done, I'll just give you my simple little details below. I sincerely appreciate your visiting me today; I'm having such fun!!!
Paper: PTI's SS White & Spring Rain CS

Tools/Accessories: Spellbinders' Wizard & Star Die; Fiskars' Upper Crest Punch; Copic Markers; Ribbon: American Crafts

PTI's Birthday Bash Challenge #2

Here's my 2nd PTI Anniversary challenge of the day (see previous post for an explanation). As I'm trying to care for a sickly husband (just a cold, but they love to be babied, don't they?) and get some cards finished/posted, I'll keep it short & sweet with just the deets (thanks for stopping by!):
Paper: PTI's SS White, Pure Poppy & Black CS
Sentiment: Beth Silaika's Download
Tools/Accessories: Spellbinders' Wizard Fancy Tag Die; Fiskars Apron Lace Punch; ribbon from stash

PTI's Birthday Bash Challenge #1

For PTI's 3rd Anniversary celebration today, Nichole's nine 2010 Stamp Designers have each posted a downloadable image/sentiment on their individual blogs. Our challenge is to create a card or cards for a fabulous prize package. I punched my scalloped circle and just turned it slightly to show the background Berry Sorbet beneath! Gotta keep creating, so here's my details:
Paper: PTI's SS White, Dark Chocolate & Berry Sorbet CS
Sentiment: Dawn McVey's Download
Accessories: Cuttlebug's Spots & Dots EF; EK Success Paper Shapers: 1 3/4" Circle & 2" Scalloped Circle; ribbon from stash
