Papertrey Ink's July, 2009 Blog Hop: Text Integration

Woo-Hoo!!! Time for Papertry Ink's monthly Blog Hop challenge which was to integrate text into your project -- easy/peasy!!!

I knew right away I wanted to include flowers stamped with text as I just really love the look. I first stamped my small fabric flower & was thrilled that PTI's Palette True Black ink didn't "feather", so on to my larger one! All very simple/self-explanatory, so I'll let you "hop on" to everyone else's projects! ENJOY!!!

Paper: PTI's Shimmer CS & black CS from my stash
Ink: PTI's Palette True Black
Stamps: PTI's Backgound Basics: Text Style & Mixed Messages

CPS Sketch 125

My solution to Arizona's unrelenting heat is to just immerse myself in my papercrafting, hoping not only to s-t-r-e-t-c-h my creativity but to also "forget" that it's just too hot to do much of anything except be under my ceiling fan surrounded by my paper, embellishments and tools. Ah, I'm a lucky girl, as there could be a much worse fate, huh?!!! After looking at these flourishes for days & wanting to use them on a card, this is the latest result.
Paper: PTI's Vintage Cream CS; DCWV's All Dressed Up CS; grey metallic & pink CS from stash
Ink: PTI's True Black & Ranger Worn Lipstick Distress Ink
Stamps: PTI's Background Basics: Text Style

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #12 & Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #74 Tea for Two

As my long title shows, I've combined two challenges, Dawn's ever-challenging color challenge & Taylor's awesome sketch. They're both really fun to do, separately or together! Thankfully, I still have PTI stamps loaned to me by my darling friend Gwen so I chose Tea for Two, a fabulous set! Had a lot of fun with the round part of Taylor's sketch -- ended up using my 3rd idea with the SU round tab punch, thus flipping that portion of the sketch. I've only done Taylor's sketch once before, but really enjoyed myself. May have to make it a weekly affair!!!
Paper: PTI's Spring Moss & Vintage Cream CS; red CS from stash
Ink: PTI's Spring Moss & Raspberry Fizz
Stamps: PTI's Tea for Two
Embellishments: Amuse Twinkle Sticker (colored w/Copic RV04); MM Classic Holiday ribbon

Congrats w/Tim Holtz Idea-ology Word Keys/Keyholes

Our son recently purchased his first home, which definitely warrants a Congratulations card from us! I was influenced by Becca Feeken to use my Spellbinders' dies & Tim Holtz Idea-ology hardware after seeing this awesome card on her fabulous blog. I don't have the new dies she revealed in this post, but they are fabulous & are high on my Wish List! Her blog is one I visit daily, as her cards in my opinion are works of art!!! The Tim Holtz line of Idea-ology products are awesome when you need a masculine touch on a card (though this one would certainly work for a lady too).
Paper: Strathmore Watercolor; The Paper Company's Espresso CS; SEI's Windsor DP
Ink: PTI's Dark Chocolate
Stamps: PTI's Father Knows Best (Compass); Fiskars Round of Applause (Sentiment)

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 11/Scattered Showers Umbrella Card 2

Whew, I'm always one of the last ones to post my card for Dawn's color challenges & this one WAS challenging!!! My original idea changed many times over! I always enjoy these, Dawn, but I'm never sure I'll make the deadline - actually a time or two I haven't -- LOL!!! For some reason, my paper ribbon looks crooked no matter how I try to photograph it, even though it's not -- oh well, time is running out, so I'll just just list the details:
Paper: Grey Striped & plain grey CS from stash; PTI's Raspberry Fizz & Vellum
Stamps: PTI's Scattered Showers, Background Basics: Text Style & Wise Owl (leaves/stems)

My Review of Spellbinders Wizard Die Carry Case

RitzCamera.com

At last, a carrying case for your Spellbinders Wizard Die Templates. Inside the micro-fiber suede covers is a ring binder system that holds pages of pockets sized to fit Spellbinders Dies. The page for small dies holds 10 per page, the medium holds 4 per page, and the large holds 2 per page.

EDITED TO ADD: Now that I've used this for awhile, I really like it AND Spellbinders DOES have available on their website for sale (under Accessories) a Refill Package: Set of 4, 2 part refill pages for the W-027 Die Carry Case. Each pocket measures 5⅞ x 4¼, with 2 pockets on each page. Approximate size of page: 6½ x 8½ for $5.99, so that's really awesome!!!

Convenient Die Carry-All

MaricopaStamper Phoenix, AZ 7/4/2009

4 of 5 Stars

Pros: Organized, Flap pockets, Elegant, Convenient

Cons: Unavailable add'l pockets, Need larger pocket page

Best Uses: On-the-go organization, Handy organization

Great to get your dies organized in elegant ready to grab & go style. Flaps keep dies from falling out & zippered ring binder further guarantees your dies will be safely transported. Manufacturer needs to sell extra pocket pages for separate additional purchase. Though larger dies fit into zippered pockets inside each cover, additional single-pocket pages are needed for storage of numerous larger dies.

Scattered Showers Umbrella Card 1

Wishing you sunshine, wherever you may be this 4th of July Holiday!!! My sweet friend, Gwen, loaned me some of her fabulous PTI stamp sets to play with. The Labels Two & Ribbon Tags dies used here are my own, however. Because I've loved this stamp set since it debuted, I'm having so much fun playing with it -- so back to the craft table!!!
