Maricopa is a community just south of Phoenix, AZ partially surrounded by raw desert and American Indian tribal land where wild horses still roam free and John Wayne worked his sprawling Red River Ranch and Cattle Company in bygone days. My husband photographed this horse sculpture near our subdivision’s entrance.

Happy Halloween Card
Here's a simple Halloween card I made today, using generic orange cardstock and, again, my favorite Making Memories 6" x 6" Halloween Embellishment Paper from Target. The darling Halloween stamp is by Copper Leaf Creations, a local Arizona stamp company. The tiny black brads are some I purchased long ago when my then neighborhood stamp store closed. After attempting to set them straight, without jabbing holes where you don't want them to be, I think I now know why they had so many left to dispose of when they closed. Tee-Hee!!! I do like unique embellishments, though, so have learned with these little guys to use a nearly worn-out pencil eraser, very carefully, straight up and down to push them into the cardstock. Oftentimes a tweezers is best, but these are just too tiny, I've found. I always use a corkboard underneath my cardstock when setting these.
