JustRite Friday Challenge #089: Anything Goes!

For JustRite's current challenge - anything goes, which means you may use your Favorite JustRite stamp and then tell everyone why it's a fav -- simple/fun/easy, huh?!!!  Yes -- except for picking a fav, that is -- Hee!

This card was created with a fairly new-to-me stamp set (Ooh La La French Frills) for a friend who's 'nickname' is "Sassy" and her favorite color is (obviously) blue!  I'd not had a chance to use this set until now.  It's a fav because it perfectly fit the bill for what I needed and wanted to do for her birthday card this year!

I used the matching Spellbinders' dies here, as well as Samantha Walker's Twisted Metal Tags and Accents' die to back my sentiment. After die cutting the dress form and insert, I stamped the sentiment and insert with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink and colored the flowers/leaves of the dress with Copic markers. Spellbinders' Card Creator A2 Polka Dots die creates the backdrop and finishing my card off is a tiny bow and Want2Scrap's gem flourish colored with B29 Copic marker.

JustRite Friday Challenge #089: Anything Goes!

The current JustRite Friday Challenge: 'anything goes', means you can make a project using ANY JustRite stamp(s) and simply tell why they're your fav. With my daughter and step-daughter both recently engaged, I have been working on several ideas for wedding invitations. Today I'm sharing my creations for Save the Date magnets, wedding invitations and thank you cards using Just Rite's Lace Medallion Labels and Lace Background stamps.

First, my Save the Date magnet was created using the Vintage Love sentiment from Lace Medallion Labels on Ice Silver CS and die cut with JustRite's Custom Nested Oval Medallion Dies by Spellbinders.

Using JustRite's Lace Background stamp as my invitation's backdrop, I inked the stamp with pigment ink and stamped it onto Ice Silver CS. Having created my invitation in Microsoft Word, I printed it on Vellum in black ink and secured it to the CS with matching ribbon laced through the two layers. Metallic envelopes were purchased.

Finally, my thank you's are simple A2 cards stamped with the sentiment and lace border from Lace Medallion Labels and the same ribbon used on the invitations.

I love the vintage and classy look these JustRite Lace stamps add to so many projects and I thought they were absolutely perfect for this wedding set!

JustRite Friday Challenge #088: Sketch

Hard to believe Valentine's Day is sooo close, so I need to get started on my cards for this upcoming holiday and couldn't think of a better way than to create a card following the current JustRite Papercrafts Friday Challenge sketch!

Starting with Spellbinders' Nested Hearts, cut/embossed from Vintage Cream CS, I stamped JustRite's Lace Medallion Labels "Vintage Love" sentiment, as well as a heart flourish beneath from JustRite's Forever Friends cling set and distressed it with Antique Linen Ink. I also cut cupid and his bow/arrow from a Lifestyle Crafts die.

My BG paper from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found: Union Square was further embellished with a strip of cream crepe paper and striped CS from my MME paper pad for banners down the left side. Across the top I added ruffled ribbon from Making Memories, my cupid and a heart stick pin and completed this Valentine with Want2Scrap black rhinestone flourishes on both lower edges of my heart sentiment centerpiece. My Sheri Crafts Challenge #102: Got Snow?

Our new challenge today @ My Sheri Crafts asks that you include a snowman or snow 'girl' in your project. I chose to use a retired JustRite stamp set (Vintage Christmas) and follow the current Sketch Challenge at JustRite Papercraft, where Sheri is Challenge Hostess.

I stamped the darling snowman in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Markers, adding Stickles to the snow.  Using Spellbinders Standard Circles I die cut Mr. Snowman and another red circle backing. I then stamped the snowflake border from this same set onto a small card cut from Labels Twelve and added more Stickles. A stamped sentiment, border and snowflake from JustRite's Antique Christmas Tags: One were added inside the small card, which I attached to the front of my larger card following Sheri's sketch. I'll stamp inside the large card next Holiday Season when I know who'll receive this. It's only January 19th and my first 2013 Christmas card is done -- YAY!!!

While contemplating this challenge, I saw this FUN melting snowman project here. After 5 nights here in the desert SW well below freezing, to see a snowman melting seemed fitting to me -- Hee!  I hate cold weather -- give me 110-degree summers over this any day!!! I used the small rock (plentiful in our 'yard') for his head, but my paint was a bit 'yellow', so I covered it in felt instead by just running a basting stitch around a piece of white felt. Then I grabbed a couple sticks from a bush in our 'frozen' back yard and finished decorating my melting snowman with product from my stash.  Hope he brings you a smile!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #101: Favorite Sport

Welcome to a New Year and our new challenge @ My Sheri Crafts is to give some love to the athletes in our lives by creating any project with their favorite sport as your theme.  Simple enough?!!!

For my project I chose to go with golf since I have several male family members and friends who play occasionally. My golf bag is a download purchased from My Vinyl Designer and was quite simple to put together after cutting beautifully on my BossKut Gazelle in my three chosen CS colors.

I decided to keep this fun for a birthday card and used the 'punny' "Who's your caddy?" sentiment I've seen so often -- hope they like this -- Hee! I created it with my JustRite (retired) Times New Roman 25-point alphabet, edged in Memento Danube Blue ink and simply popped it up on foam dots. A 'stick-man golfer' (source unknown) was added to complete my card!

Boss Kut Gazelle: Vinyl Tile

I finally made my first monogram decor gift using vinyl. While in Lowe's earlier this fall with friends, I saw these 6-inch tiles on a clearance table for 20 cents each -- I grabbed five of them with this very project in mind, knowing at that price I couldn't go wrong.

I was a bit unsure where to find fancy monogram files and actually attempted to design my own, but wasn't terribly successful -- plan to work on that in the future, maybe in the summer when life slows down a bit?!

I recently went online to myvinyldesigner.com/ and purchased this FABULOUS downloadable file. Not surprisingly, my Boss Kut Gazelle easily and beautifully cut this intricate file! If you have a digital cutter, be sure to check out their great selection of files available in all cutter formats.

Admittedly on this smaller tile, the weeding of the unnecessary pieces is a bit tedious, mostly because I just couldn't wait to transfer the finished monogram to my tile to see the finished product!!! Now I'm on the hunt to find some reasonably-priced easels to properly display these!

Christmas Card - Spellbinders' and JustRite Style II

Catching up on my Christmas cards not previously posted, here is a bit different version of this card I previously posted -- another Spellbinders'/JustRite Papercraft Christmas card. This time I've used the same mix of gold papers, but substituted Labels Sixteen for my tree's layer.

I also stamped a gold glittered JustRite border from their retired Vintage Christmas stamp set to surround my foil tree die cut and added pink gems to my tree and border.

Finishing it all off is a gold mesh bow at the bottom. I really like how this fairly simple card turned out and gave it to our DD/her fiance' since I know she likes non-traditional holiday colors.

Christmas Card - Spellbinders' and JustRite Style

Needing a few more last-minute Christmas cards I decided to play with various shades of gold CS and some Spellbinders' foil and dies: Grand Labels Twenty-three, Labels 24, Ribbon Banners and Fanciful Holiday from 2011. Starting with medium gold CS, I embossed it with the Polka Dots embossing folder for my card base and then added the darker gold die cut with Grand Labels Twenty-three. Topping that is Labels Twenty-four in the lightest and medium shades. For my sentiment I've used Antique Christmas Tags One curved to fit Spellbinders' Ribbon Banners die.

My Christmas tree die cut with gold foil takes center stage and it's finished off with red gems/star and a red velvet ribbon.

JustRite's Magical Christmas Wish

This is the fairly CAS card I'm using this year for the majority of my recipients. In years past I'd made up to 50 of the same card, but the last couple of years I just made a lot of different cards. However, then I never know to whom I sent what -- doubt I'd ever repeat one, but who knows? This year I've not made quite as many ahead as I'd hoped, so now have about 20 of these and will fill in with a few special ones to complete my reduced Christmas list.

For this card I used holly embossed paper purchased at the annual Bazzill warehouse clearance sale.  Last fall I forgot to check ahead for the date and remembered it on a Sunday, only to find it had ended the previous day -- sigh! This year, I scoped out the date early and then emailed two dear friends to help me remember it and we met there and shopped -- it's always fun to see what they have and stock up on their wonderful papers, etc. This JustRite stamp is from their now discontinued original grid system, also purchased on clearance. I thought it was perfect to use with the holly paper and have added little touches of red and green Spica glitter to the holly/berries, which I only wish would show up in my photo! A simple ribbon finishes off this CAS Christmas card for this year.

JustRite Friday Challenge #087: Picture This!

The challenge @ JustRite Papercraft through 6 PM CST tomorrow is to use a photo in your project. This could be a holiday photo card, mini book, ornament, or layout. The best part of this challenge may be the PRIZES -- Spellbinders' dies -- 2 for the Grand Prize winner and 1 for each of 3 Honorable Mention winners and the Random winner will receive a JustRite stamp. So if you have a chance, come join the fun!!!

My project includes a photo of my DD and their beloved rescue dog taken by her fiance'.  I thought she'd like to have it framed for him to enjoy on his desk while working. I die cut/embossed aqua Bazzill CS with Spellbinders' Romantic Rectangles, glued down my photo and slipped it into the top right corner of my clear acrylic frame. I love that you can see through the pretty edging of the Romantic Rectangles!
I measured the remaining space on the left and bottom and cut a piece of October Afternoon's Woodland Park DP in colors that coordinate with my photo to fill in the frame.

Next I stamped what I think is a perfect sentiment from Wedding Nested Sentiments (retired JustRite original set) in aqua ink on cream CS. It was die cut/embossed with Spellbinders' Polka Dot Frame, using only the inside cut-out from the smallest frame. A small glittery heart from my stash was added and foam dots to pop it out from my frame for dimension. Finishing it all off are black rhinestone finesse swirls from Want2Scrap. I think this will make a nice little gift for DD's fiance' and if they want, they can easily change out the photo.
