Maricopa is a community just south of Phoenix, AZ partially surrounded by raw desert and American Indian tribal land where wild horses still roam free and John Wayne worked his sprawling Red River Ranch and Cattle Company in bygone days. My husband photographed this horse sculpture near our subdivision’s entrance.

Spellbound, But Still Chic
Because I tend to do better with non-cutesy cards, I fell in love with Papercrafts Mag's online bonus project, Chic Halloween Card by Cari Fennell, so thought I'd CASE it! A friend had also liked it & came to craft with me today, but it turns out I had used up all of my stash of this particular MM's Spellbound paper! Boo Hoo! Never fear -- friend to the rescue! She'd brought her whole (huge) Halloween paper stash & had 1 sheet of this fabulous double-sided paper left, so shared with me -- thanks, Ilene!!! I changed the card just a tad, using a MM's vinyl bat sticker and different rhinestones, but I just love how it turned out!!! Cari had me @ tulle; love how it looks on this card!!!

JustRite Apple Orchard: Copic Creations Challenge 10
As I work on my coloring "skills" (a debatable term!) with my tiny stash of Copics, the current challenge at Copic Creations is to use Reds/Pinks. I have much to learn & reds are the most difficult colors I've yet tried, but the only chance at becoming better is to practice. We all have to begin @ the beginning, huh?!!! Again, my lack of Kindergarten and art classes notwithstanding, I do find coloring to be very enjoyable & relaxing! I used JustRite's Autumn Blessings basket of apples and a new favorite layout I first discovered on the fabulously talented Jak's blog here! So if I'm brave enough to post my beginning ventures into Copic coloring, why don't you also & maybe you'll be the lucky winner of the fabulous prize they're offering in this challenge! I know I'm hoping to win as I'll either improve or at the very least, have fun trying!!!
Paper: PTI's White CS; Basic Grey's Mellow DPs
Stamp: JustRite Autumn Blessing; PTI's Everyday Classics
Ink: Memento's Rich Cocoa & Lady Bug
Embellishments: Ribbon (source unknown); Burgundy Stickles

FABULOUS Blog Candy!!!

Tea for Two Meets Everyday Classics: Heartfelt Thanks
This is a thank you card I recently sent to a very special lady who did an amazingly sweet and wonderful thing that I'll always be so grateful to her for!!! My sentiment choice was a no brainer, because it's exactly what I feel for her kindness. I had to add the tiny heart as a sweet little detail to my sentiment for this lovely lady because she has a BIG heart and she'll forever have a special place in mine!!! I chose to use an embossed paper strip to thread my tag, instead of the polka dot ribbon in my photo to not detract from the teacup, a "trick" I've used a lot lately. I also had fun using a bit of the flourish (same one I used for a "shelf" 2 posts below) as "steam".
Paper: PTI's Stampers Select White CS; black unknown
Stamps: PTI's Tea for Two & Everyday Classics
Ink: PTI's True Black
Embellishments: Amuse Twinkle Stickers

JustRite Thank You Card
My first JustRite card -- a simple thank you card for Angela from whom I recently won this JustRite stamp set! I was so shocked when it arrived so quickly, but then after I knew she'd received this, I forgot to post it!!! She also kindly included a roll of American Crafts ribbon with stars so I just had to include it on my card, thus my "star" theme! The set includes a 25 pt. Times New Roman font, perfect for personalizing any card. So fun to play with the JustRite set--would love to have more!!!

PTI August Blog Hop: Autumn Theme
Blog Hop time again -- Woo-Hoo!!! This month Nichole challenged us to create an autumn-themed project for Papertrey Ink's August Blog Hop. One of her suggestions was to use fabric on your creation . . . let's just say I tried, but failed miserably! So I went back to an idea that had struck me the first time I saw PTI's Everyday Classics Anniversary Set. I created my card based on the stamped flourish, to which I then added a sliver of Dark Chocolate card stock for a "wooden shelf" to hold my teapot. Seed beads sewn to my lace trim added the final detail. I can think of many ways to use this little "shelf" for other projects! Okay, I'm off to see all the wonderous projects all you hoppers created!
Paper: PTI's Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate & Vintage Cream
Stamps: PTI's Tea for Two & Everday Classics
Ink: PTI's Dark Chocolate
Embellishments: Lace Trim, seed beads, paper flower from stash
Tools: Spellbinders Wizard; Curved Rectangles Dies
Finished Card Size: 6 3/8" x 4 5/8"

Everyday Button Bits: Sequin Flowers
Just a simple little card post today using PTI's Everyday Buttons Bits, an unmounted rubber sun image (source unknown), Martha Stewart's fence punch and some sequins I've had since 2005. Yikes! Just thought it made such a bright/cherry little card & since I awoke with a nasty sinus headache this AM, it just "felt" right!!!

CPS Sketch 128: PTI Everyday Classics Wishing You Well
This is a great CPS sketch and I used two fabulous PTI stamp sets, but my creative mojo seems to have taken today off (hope it's back tomorrow). After much effort expended, I decided I'd just go ahead and post this anyway. Sigh!
Paper: PTI's Kraft & Summer Sunrise CS
Ink: PTI's Summer Sunrise, Cognac, Burnt Sienna, Dark Chocolate
Stamps: PTI's Everyday Classics & Birds of a Feather
Embellies: Hero Arts gems
Tools: WeRMemory Keepers Corner Rounder
2S4Y Challenge 32: Tea for Two
I love PTI's lovely Shimmer cardstock, but surprisingly when I stamped my teapot in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, it appeared to be medium gray. I actually liked it, so I grabbed my PTI Silver CS to complete the look for this 2 Sketches 4 You challenge. My Swiss Dots embossing folder, EK Success mini scallop-edge punch and AMuse gems, heart & "drip" helped me complete this simple sketch in silver & white!!!
Paper: PTI's Shimmer & Silver CS
Ink: Memento's Tuxedo Black
Stamps: PTI's Tea for Two & Everyday Classics (Anniversary Set 2009)
Embellies: AMuse Twinkle Stickers; White Gel Pen

COPIC GIVEAWAY with Hanna Card
I think if I entered a contest where they pick the lady who needs the most help with coloring technique, I'd surely win, but sadly this is my entry for a random draw here for the 72 Copic Markers shown above -- which I definitely CAN use to take a Copic beginner's class!!! ;-) It's open until the 9th (tomorrow), but since this lady is in London, I'm assuming that's only until midnight tonight there, which I believe is in about an hour -- sorry, I can barely figure out times here in the USA during daylight time, let alone on another continent!
Paper: PTI's Pink Patterns & black & pale berry from stash
Ink: Memento's Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Hanna Stamps (My FAV!)
Embellishments: Amuse Twinkle Stickers; Offray Ribbon

Everyday Button Bits Flowers
My dear sweet friend Gwen & I traded PTI stamp sets again this weekend. She so kindly loaned out her brand-new Everyday Button Bits set -- W0o-Hoo!!! I truly am a lucky girl!!!
I just happened to have these little flower buttons, which I thought would be so fun for a quick card. Unfortunately the quick part wasn't to be, as I struggled to do anything right for some reason! At long last, I did finish my card, only to discover that my greens (ribbon, ink & BG paper) which truly are close to PTI's Ripe Avacado "in person" all look like different/non-matching shades in my photo! Yikes -- you'll just have to trust me on that, as I'm greatly lacking in photographic skills, but that ribbon is NOT Kelly green!!! Maybe I'll try to retake it with hubby's better camera.
Paper: PTI's Basic White; The Paper Co.'s Mandarin & green from stash
Stamps: PTI's Everyday Button Bits
Ink: PTI's Ripe Avacado
Embellishments: Offray ribbon; buttons from stash
Tools: Spellbinders Wizard & Labels Two; EK Success scalloped punch
