Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #7 & Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge

Week 7 for Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge & only 3 colors to incorporate this time! Easy-peasy!!! I decided to combine Dawn's challenge with Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #70 also! I was inspired by my BBGF (Best Blogging GF), Gwen, being chosen by Taylor as Featured Cupcake Sampler for this birthday card!!! Woo-Hoo for Gwen (and me too, as I was the lucky recipient of her adorable birthday card!!! Now I'm wondering . . . if you're just "sampling" the cupcakes, does that mean there's no calories? LOL! I flipped Taylor's sketch 1/4 turn; it's a great sketch that I'll be using again!!! Here's my card's deets:
Paper: Bazill Cardstock for my Artichoke & Celery Greens; PTI's Raspberry Fizz & Autumn Leaves Adhesive Mats: Carefree Autumn

Stamps: PTI's Mixed Messages & Inkadinkado's Birthday Cupcake

Ink: PTI's Palette Noir

Embellishments: Shrinky Dinks; Copic Markers; Nesties; ribbon; jump ring

PTI May Blog Hop "Yellow" Card

For this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop challenge we were to use the color yellow in our project. Yellow is not a "go to" color for me, but you can't go wrong with a yellow flower, so Friends 'Til the End seemed the perfect set for this challenge. I stamped the smaller flower in Palette Noir ink on yellow mulberry paper and on Dandelion Bazzill cardstock. I wet the mulberry paper just outside the edges of my flower & tore around it & placed it underneath my cut out cardstock flower to soften the look. Yellow Stickles and a Hero Arts yellow gem were added to its center. For my sentiment I chose "sending hugs" from the Friends' set, also stamped in Palette Noir, and attached all to a gray metallic panel. I added yellow Fancy Pants pompom trim using PTI's 1/8" Score Tape, which I love for this type of application, along with a row of Hero Arts yellow gems. Three more little yellow gems @ the end of my sentiment finished it off!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 6 by Dawn McVey

What a fun color challenge this was! Love the coral pink
and turquoise with brown & white! It did prove to be a bit difficult for me (again) though; not sure why? I ended up using the light aqua as my main color with the other 3 colors for my accents.
Paper: Bazzill CS; white cs from stash
Stamps: MS Heart & Flower Clear Stamps & Inkadinkado (sentiment)
Ink: PTI's Dark Chocolate, Berry Sorbet & Aqua Mist

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 5 by Dawn McVey

For Dawn's Week 5 challenge I used dark gray metallic paper, PTI's Raspberry Fizz & Shimmer cardstocks, along with Raspberry Fizz Swiss Dot Satin Ribbon, a bejeweled butterfly that I believe is K & Company and a Making Memories pink button sewn onto my PTI Friends 'Til the End saying with embroidery floss.

Rhinestone Tulip Thank You

I'm on a crafting roll right now - just enjoying the ride! ;-) A sweet friend (who's often sassy!) loaned me her new Nesties to play with this week! Thanks so much Ilene! So here's a little thank you card I whipped up last evening using Labels 4 and a rhinestone tulip I got on sale @ Michaels awhile back. The fun part here was turning the Nestie on its side & cutting just the bottom front of my card and then running a pink marker along that edge - I think it's pretty cute! You can click on the photo for a better view.
It's already past spring here, but I see from many blog posts that most other places in the country are just beginning to enjoy the flowers finally bursting forth after a VERY long winter. Hope my little tulip keeps me in a spring mood while the 100-degree days rage on here in AZ! ;-)
Paper: DCWV's Nana's Kids DP Printed CS; pink metallic & white cs from stash
Stamps: PTI's Mixed Messages; Technique Tuesday's Inner Circle (msg. shadow)
Ink: PTI's Palette Noir
Embellishments: Nesties Labels Four; lg. rhinestones: Michaels $1 spot; Tombow marker

Deja Views Blue Raspberry Blocks

Do you ever start with an idea & can't seem to pull it all together into an actual creation? Seems that happens to me a lot! Here's a simple card I'd started for Dawn's Raspberry Sweet Challenge 4. Yesterday when my sassy (her own aptly chosen nickname) friend, Ilene, was here she saw these pieces and said she wanted me to finish this for her birthday -- which isn't even until next February - LOL! Nope, not elegant enough for a bday card! Apparently, she sparked my creativity to actually finish the card. ;-)
Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms out there! I'll be enjoying Champagne Brunch with my sweet hubby tomorrow & hope you all have a fabulous day with your families too!
Paper: Deja Views Blue Raspberry DP; brown card set from Michaels clearance
Embellishments: Queen & Co. felt flowers; Kaiser pearls
Tools: SU's scallop & 1 1/4" punch; Creative Memories oval cutting system

Let's Party by Fiskars

A fun little card I decided to do just because I found some stamp sets recently on clearance @ Joanns for $1.97. This particular set, Celebrate, contained the Let's Party oval & martini glass which fit perfectly with my DCWV All Dressed Up stack & printed ribbon. Just felt like a bit of a fun & frivolity after my recent "vintage" cards!
Paper: DCWV All Dressed Up stack; white card from stash
Stamps: Fiskars' Celebrate set
Ink: PTI's Palette Noir
Accessories: DCWV All Dressed Up ribbon
Tools: Copic Ciaos YG11 & YG95

Vintage Mother's Day Card

A vintage Mother's Day card for my Mother-in-Law. My husband says he's sure she had that "wallpaper" at one time in her house! He may be right, as I'm quite sure I remember this print myself from growing up in a 100-yr-old farmhouse with many layers of old wallpaper. Watching and helping my Mom put up clean wallpaper, I know "papering" a card is way more fun!!! Bet my Mom-in-Law agrees!

Paper: PTI's Basic White CS; Melissa Frances' Bonnie DP

Stamp: PTI's Mixed Messages

Inks: PTI's Dark Chocolate; VersaMark Champagne Dazzle; Ranger's Antique Linen Distress Ink

Embellishments: Fancy Pants Chipboard; DeNami Lemon Sorbet Glitter; Making Memories Paint & Ribbon; Hero Arts Pearls (colored with Copic RV29)

Spring Fling Challenge for PTI

Nichole's challenge was to create a project using elements from one of six inspiration photos. I was amazed when I enlarged this photo and realized that I had the exact same paper as that covering the round box on the chair seat! Obviously, I had my inspiration! Vintage not being in my "comfort" zone, I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised - I really like this card!
Paper: PTI's Basic White CS; Melissa Frances DP
Stamps: PTI's Heartfelt Basic
Inks: PTI's Palette Noir & Raspberry Fizz
Embellishments: Making Memories Gemstones; ribbon from stash

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge Week 4 by Dawn McVey

Dawn's posted another color challenge, so here's my take on it. Not much to tell here or much exciting and since I have NO IDEA: 1) where my mojo runs off to or 2) whether 8 pm CST is really 8pm DST or what??? I'm just going to rush this to Mr. Linky, just in case I'm still within the proper time frame?!!! Thanks for looking!!!
Paper: Brown, aqua and white from stash
Stamps: PTI's Birds of a Feather & Heartfelt Basics (phrase)
Ink: PTI's Dark Chocolate , Spring Rain & Aqua Mist (over-stamped eggs in both colors)
Embellishments: Ribbon (Costco long ago); Stickles
Tools: Cuttlebug Birds & Swirls & We R Memory Keepers Corner Rounder (LOVE it!)
